Three types of glazing are available for your greenhouse. Choose from standard horticultural, long pane toughened or 6mm polycarbonate options which let you customise your greenhouse to suit your needs.
Glass diagram images below are for demonstration of the glazing styles and may differ depending on your chosen greenhouse model.

Standard 3mm glass which consists mostly of 2ft by 2ft panes, overlapping each other with the use of clips to hold one above another. This type of glass is traditional and very economical but tends to shatter into shards when smashed, so isn't recommended if you have children or pets.

with Long Pane Toughened Glazing (SO8122)
Long pane 3mm toughened glass is a lot stronger, and more durable than standard horticultural glass. In the rare event of it shattering, it breaks into safer smaller pieces. It is also neater and needs less maintenance as no overlapping glass means there is no algae build up and no Z clips to fit.

Polycarbonate is a virtually unbreakable material, better described as being a highly durable, 4mm thick twin-wall, opaque coloured plastic glaze rather than actual glass. This makes it the safest material where children and pets are concerned and the simplest type to install due to the large yet lighter panes. It also refracts the light very well.

All greenhouses need to be fitted onto a secure base. This can be achieved by using an official Halls branded metal base plinth to give the greenhouse added strength and height. Alternatively you can build a brick base to fit your greenhouse size if you prefer.

with Greenhouse Installation
We can arrange to have your Halls Greenhouse, plus any other Halls accessories you purchase together.
Available to domestic addresses only (no allotments) within mainland England. But excludes Wales, Scotland, Scottish Highlands, Northern Ireland, and Offshore Islands. Installation is normally completed within 6 - 12 weeks after the delivery of your greenhouse.
Note: A base plinth MUST be purchased above for installation services to be valid. The installers will not complete the installation without a matching base plinth. Please find our Halls Installation Terms and Preparation Checklist here.

Delivery Timeframes & Charges
Delivery is normally within 20 working days (4 weeks) to mainland England and Wales areas.
Delivery is normally within 30 working days (6 weeks) to Scotland and Offshore Isles/Islands.
Delivery is normally within 40 working days (8 weeks) to Northern Ireland due to the extra distance and carriage logistics.
Delivery charges can be found under the “Delivery Services” options above. Unfortunately, delivery to; Scottish Islands, Isle of Man, Isle of Wight, Jersey, Guernsey and Northern Ireland will incur a higher delivery charge due to the additional logistics of sending a greenhouse, and the extra distance required by the delivery carrier.
Unfortunately, we can't ship this product range to the Republic of Ireland.
For larger products, the carrier will call and book in a convenient delivery date. For other products, a delivery date will be provided by email from the carrier, which will include a link to allow tracking online.
Installation Services
Installation services may be available on some greenhouse products and is limited to domestic addresses only (no allotments) within mainland England and Wales, but excludes Scotland, Scottish Highlands, Northern Ireland, and Offshore Islands. Installation is normally completed within 6 - 12 weeks after the successful delivery of your greenhouse. The greenhouse will need to be stored in a safe and dry location during the interim period. Vehicles We Use
Items will be delivered on larger lorries which can get to most places it's typically, a 15 ton lorry which is about the size of a dustbin lorry, this will depend on the item that is being delivered and should you have any concerns with restricted access to your property we ask you to contact us prior to placing an order.
Unloading Of Your Delivery
Due to the nature of this product, delivery will be made to the front of the property to the nearest location. Our drivers will not carry these items inside your home or back garden. When the item is delivered on a pallet, the pallet and packaging are non-returnable. Goods can only be manoeuvred on a flat and level surface (i.e. not a gravel driveway) by a pallet truck. On some occasions the driver will split the package to assist with manoeuvring of the item. Once you are happy, we will ask you to check the condition of the goods and sign for the delivery.

VERY SATISFIED
The final result is great, and the auto roof vent and auto louvre work together perfectly. Assembly was tricky, but as this was the thrid greenhouse I have assembled over the years I was expecting difficulties! The roof vent bottom bar 8615 was incorrcetly labelled. We had three right hand sets of 1701 and only one left hand, so had to drill a hole. 1549 on the bench instructions should be 1548. We were short of three sets of nuts and bolts. There were no insructions about the draught strip that fits round the door. Otherwise everything was clear enough.

Nice little greenhouse
Installation was straight forward until it came to the door. Screwing strips within the door was quite difficult but main problem was attaching top runner of door to main frame. We have fitted left upright bar of door but still not happy with it as pre drilled hole hasn’t been used. Please improve your assembly instructions

Unsightly window clips
Delivery was perfect as is the greenhouse. My only bugbear is that as I ordered a green greenhouse I thought the window clips would be green but there not there silver. Had I known that I’d have ordered a silver greenhouse

Good product - but awful instructions
Once I saw that the instructions were illustrations-only, my heart sank. And with good reason as it transpired. I know the company saves money doing this - but could we not at least have the option of an online set of printable instructions in good old-fashioned 'words' to clarify the sometimes difficult to visualise fuzzy 'photos? I could have put this up in one-third the time otherwise. Come on Halls, you really ought to invest some of the marketing budget and do better than this because the product itself is good.

Great product but instructions could be better
My 6x4 greenhouse was delivered quickly and efficiently. The product is well engineered and goes together easily if you have some basic DIY experience. A 10mm socket and ratchet is very useful to do up the many nuts. As others have commented the instructions could be better, particularly for the door and the opening rooflight, which caused some head scratching and for the latter I was left with a piece whose number did not match up with the instructions, but it fitted in the end with some help from You Tube. If you are going to build one of these make sure you have access on all 4 sides as you will need it to fit the toughened glass which comes in 4ft x 2ft pieces. I also ordered a potting bench and the instructions for this might as well not be provided .I managed to put it together wrongly twice, all for the lack of some explanation on the instructions.It wouldn't cost anything to improve the instructions! I also ordered an automatic opener for the roof light. This went together OK and seems to work but does not allow the opener to fully close because the end of the ram fouls one of the brackets. Some more fiddling required! Otherwise all good.

Exactly what I needed
The greenhouse looks great and fits in the space I had reserved. It was quite easy to put up - just one or two puzzles which needed more brain power to solve. A couple of broken panes of glass on arrival were speedily replaced. It is a very sturdy greenhouse.

What is the best method of fixing a greenhouse base? Mine will be standing on existing stone flags.
We Replied:Dear Peter Thank you for your question. You do not need to fix the base to the stone flags as the weight of the glass is sufficient to hold the greenhouse in place, unless your greenhouse is sited in a very exposed area. In this instance you can drill the inside lip of the base and the concrete and put in expanding bolts. These are not supplied as standard though. We Replied:Dear Pam Thank you for your question. The base plinth is made from galvanized steel and comes with spikes which can be used to secure the greenhouse to the ground such as gravel, compacted soil or grass. Alternatively, the spikes can be removed from the base plinth and it can be placed on a hard standing surface such as concrete, patio or decking. Once the base plinth is in position, the greenhouse itself is then installed on top. It will be fine to place on compacted soil as long as the area is flat and level, and you can use the spikes to secure it into the ground.
