Description

This Decibel Noise Reduction Acoustic Fence Panel from Forest is a contemporary garden fence panel whose innovative design has been proved to make your garden a quieter place.

Each panel makes use of a 45mm thick rebated frame in which 17mm thick, triangulated boards are combined together in an interlocking tongue and groove manner, ensuring there are no gaps for noise to pass through.

By means of reflection, diffusion and absorption, the triangular boards help to reduce noise by up to 30dB letting you enjoy your garden in a more peaceful, calmer way, especially useful if you live near a busy road and wish to drain out the sounds of passing cars, or alternatively noisy neighbours or commercial buildings next door.

Pressure treated timber is used throughout each panel, with the preservative solution being forced deep into the wood's pores, offering long-lasting protection from rot and decay hence why Forest offer a 15-year anti-rot guarantee as standard.

Delivery will typically be made within 3 - 5 working days for the majority of mainland UK locations (exclusions apply - see below for details).

For the majority of mainland UK locations, Forest products are delivered to your home directly by the manufacturer. In this instance you will receive a message by phone or email with details to manually book in a chosen delivery date.
For limited areas of south east England, limited areas of the south west England, and Scotland, Forest products are delivered by a third party carrier. In this instance, the carrier will contact you directly to book a delivery date once your order is ready at their delivery centre.

Vehicles We Use
Items will be delivered on larger lorries which can get to most places it's typically, a 7.5 ton lorry which is about the size of a dustbin lorry, this will depend on the item that is being delivered and should you have any concerns with restricted access to your property we ask you to contact us prior to placing an order.

Unloading Of Your Delivery
Due to the nature of this product, delivery will be made to the front of the property to the nearest location. Our drivers will not carry these items inside your home or back garden. When the item is delivered on a pallet, the pallet and packaging are non-returnable and the goods can only be manoeuvred on a flat and level surface (i.e. not a gravel driveway) by a pallet truck. On some occasions, the driver will split the package to assist with the manoeuvring of the item. Once you are happy, we will ask you to check the condition of the goods and sign for the delivery. Assistance with unloading may be required.

Forest Decibel Noise Reduction Panels

These panels are very well made and I would virtually pay the money they cost for this alone as I don't want to be replacing fence panels too often. They also look good. But do they stop all the noise? Obviously not, but they do make a noticeable difference and I am happy with the improvement. Would buy again.

noise reducing fence panels

the panel appear slightly flimsy but when installed they become much stronger. very easy to install despite being a lot heavier than standard panels.They actually do reduce noise levels but as I live next to a main road I cannot say for certain how much the noise is reduced

Dear Rona Thank you for your question. We would say that these fence panels are easy to install. The suitable posts for this panel can be purchased further down the product page. The length of post required will depend on how you wish to secure your fence panel. If you wish to set the posts in concrete, we'd recommend an 8ft post (concreting 2ft into the ground). Can you recommend a suitable trellis for these acoustic fence panels? Will any trellis fit or is there a special fitment?

We Replied:

Dear Joseph Thank you for your question. If you are referring to adding trellis to the top of the fence panels, then we would recommend sourcing your posts taller than intended so that they are higher than the fence panels when fixed to the ground, allowing support for trellis to be attached above. A 30cm tall trellis such as: https://www.gardensite.co.uk/fencing/forest-wisley-lattice-180-x-30cm.htm would work if you chose your fence posts an extra 1ft taller: Suitable brackets can be found further down on the trellis product page if you require any for fixing purposes. Please just double check with your local council if they are being used as a boundary around a home though, as some councils restrict fencing to 6ft high maximum. I wish to attach these noise reducing panels to an existing fence. If I screw the panels direct to the existing fence, or attach 100mm square posts first, then screw the new fencing to these, thus creating a 100mm gap between old and new, will the noise reduction that you quote for your fencing still apply?

We Replied:

Dear David Thank you for your question. We could only advise from our own experience as this situation isn't something we've come across or professionally tested before, but if the original fence will be staying in situ then it will carry on muffling a percentage of outside sound, then remaining noise leakage would be reduced when hitting the noise reduction panels. So potentially, it could work out in your favour as the sound waves would have two panels to penetrate through, rather than just the one, with the new one being specially made to reduce noise as much as possible. In regards to installation, we don't believe that either option would be that noticeably different in regards to which would be the best for reducing noise. But would advise to just ensure that any existing fence posts are strong enough to hold two fence panels simultaneously if you chose to install them onto the existing posts/panels. Do these panels look the same on both sides, or does one side have bracing struts on?

Dear Lisa Thank you for your question. I can confirm these panels are boarded on both sides. Triform technology used in the production of the boards gives each board a triangular profile on each side which helps to further diffuse unwanted noise as sound waves hit multiple faces and break up.
