Three types of glazing are available for your greenhouse. Choose from standard horticultural, long pane toughened or 6mm polycarbonate options which let you customise your greenhouse to suit your needs.

with Horticultural Glazing (SO0172)
Standard 3mm glass which consists mostly of 2ft by 2ft panes, overlapping each other with the use of clips to hold one above another. This type of glass is traditional and very economical but tends to shatter into shards when smashed, so isn't recommended if you have children or pets.

with Long Pane Toughened Glazing (70937)
Long pane 3mm toughened glass is a lot stronger, and more durable than standard horticultural glass. In the rare event of it shattering, it breaks into safer smaller pieces. It is also neater and needs less maintenance as no overlapping glass means there is no algae build up and no Z clips to fit.

Polycarbonate is a virtually unbreakable material, better described as being a highly durable, 4mm thick twin-wall, opaque coloured plastic glaze rather than actual glass. This makes it the safest material where children and pets are concerned and the simplest type to install due to the large yet lighter panes. It also refracts the light very well.

All greenhouses need to be fitted onto a secure base. This can be achieved by using an official Halls branded metal base plinth to give the greenhouse added strength and height. Alternatively you can build a brick base to fit your greenhouse size if you prefer.

Installation Services
with Greenhouse Installation
We can arrange to have your Halls Greenhouse, plus any other Halls accessories you purchase together.
Available to domestic addresses only (no allotments) within mainland England. But excludes Wales, Scotland, Scottish Highlands, Northern Ireland, and Offshore Islands. Installation is normally completed within 6 - 12 weeks after the delivery of your greenhouse.
Note: A base plinth MUST be purchased above for installation services to be valid. The installers will not complete the installation without a matching base plinth. Please find our Halls Installation Terms and Preparation Checklist here.

Delivery Information
Delivery Timeframes & Charges
Delivery is normally within 20 working days (4 weeks) to mainland England and Wales areas.
Delivery is normally within 30 working days (6 weeks) to Scotland and Offshore Isles/Islands.
Delivery is normally within 40 working days (8 weeks) to Northern Ireland due to the extra distance and carriage logistics.
Delivery charges can be found under the “Delivery Services” options above. Unfortunately, delivery to; Scottish Islands, Isle of Man, Isle of Wight, Jersey, Guernsey and Northern Ireland will incur a higher delivery charge due to the additional logistics of sending a greenhouse, and the extra distance required by the delivery carrier.
Unfortunately, we can't ship this product range to the Republic of Ireland.
For larger products, the carrier will call and book in a convenient delivery date. For other products, a delivery date will be provided by email from the carrier, which will include a link to allow tracking online.
Installation Services
Installation services may be available on some greenhouse products and is limited to domestic addresses only (no allotments) within mainland England and Wales, but excludes Scotland, Scottish Highlands, Northern Ireland, and Offshore Islands. Installation is normally completed within 6 - 12 weeks after the successful delivery of your greenhouse. The greenhouse will need to be stored in a safe and dry location during the interim period. Vehicles We Use
Items will be delivered on larger lorries which can get to most places it's typically, a 15 ton lorry which is about the size of a dustbin lorry, this will depend on the item that is being delivered and should you have any concerns with restricted access to your property we ask you to contact us prior to placing an order.
Unloading Of Your Delivery
Due to the nature of this product, delivery will be made to the front of the property to the nearest location. Our drivers will not carry these items inside your home or back garden. When the item is delivered on a pallet, the pallet and packaging are non-returnable. Goods can only be manoeuvred on a flat and level surface (i.e. not a gravel driveway) by a pallet truck. On some occasions the driver will split the package to assist with manoeuvring of the item. Once you are happy, we will ask you to check the condition of the goods and sign for the delivery.

Very sturdy greenhouse
Approx 3 weeks for delivery, but it fitted my work schedule so wasn't too much of a problem. All items undamaged, but the toughened glass is very heavy so get them to deliver as close to site as possible. Detailed instructions but black and white photos miss a lot of detail, not too difficult to figure out though. One item to remember is the base must be VERY even. Any slight distortion can make fitting the glass in the roof difficult so worth taking extra time at the begining. Seems very sturdy but could do with some sort of latch to secure the door.

Product and instructions OK But could do with better explanation with door fitting to main frame ( a bit of head scratching with this one) but overall easy to construct. Halls Popular 8x6 Greenhouse
An excellent product once built. Delivery was first rate. Build instructions left a lot to be desired, particularly the instructions for the door. When delivered there were two panes of glass broken and one pane incorrect. These were replaced without question however in replacing two panes were incorrectly sent (these had to be replaced again). Stop ends and gutter outlets should be included in the kit.

Excellent product and just as described.
Had the parents over on Saturday and put this up in one day. I did the footings, wife, kids and my parents put the frame together. Just like a big Meccano kit, bit of swearing but a lot of satisfaction once it was done. Most fiddly thing is putting the rubber seals all around the relevant frames. Was worried about the glass but it went in fine and all fitted perfectly, however the clips that hold it in make a scary click as they go in, but all good. In conclusion, a great product at a reasonable price and very straight forward to construct, plus I got a good tan, didn't have to actually garden and still got brownie points from the missus :)

Exactly what l wanted
Excellent greenhouse and l am really pleased with it. The only negative was the plans, they were a bit confusing now and again with some poor quality black and white images. However patience and some common sense won the day and l am loving the greenhouse. Highly recommended product.

Worth every penny
First ever greenhouse l have bought some looked at lots of others before deciding on this one and l am glad l did. It was no bother to put together from the kit although l did need a friend to provide another pair of hands when putting the sides and roof together. Highly recommended.

Is glass superior to polycarbonate glazing? Would 6 x 8ft be a good size for a beginner?
We Replied:Dear Lesley Thank you for your question. Glass panes are the most popular, with the toughened glass being suitable for the majority of people's needs when it comes to buying a greenhouse. Toughened glass is a stronger and safer alternative out of the two glass options. Polycarbonate is the safest out of all three glazing options which we offer, but is only mainly used where young children and pets are around as the plastic panels are virtually unbreakable. However, as long as you are careful with large tools and equipment etc, then toughened glass won't break easily either. As for the size, we always suggest going with the biggest size that you can accommodate. Not because we're trying to advise our customers to spend more but because in the long run, you will definitely appreciate the extra space. Also... 1) The price difference between a 6x4 and a 6x8 is very slim, meaning that you can get double the space for a minimal extra amount. 2) Once you start growing your own food and veg you can quite easily get devoted to growing more and more and so are always looking for more space to grow. Having a larger greenhouse helps with this. 3) It's much easier and cheaper, in the long run, to buy a big model to start with rather than in a year or two having to buy a second larger greenhouse to replace the original one.
