External Filter Media and Foams
External filters work by sitting outside your aquarium, sucking the water out of the tank and into their pressurised contained, they then pump the water back into the fish tank after it has passed the media. The filter foams and media should be changed on a regular basis to optimise filtration but you should always stagger the change so beneficial bacteria can transfer to new media.
