How do you make a garden memorial?
There's no right or wrong way to create a memorial in your own garden for a loved one - and that's the great thing about it, as you can customise your memorial area to reflect your passed loved one.
Our stone memorial pedestals are designed to be placed in your garden, to then house an urn of a loved one's ashes, and typically come with a planter, bird bath or sundial top, giving a place within your garden where you may reflect and remember whilst also incorporating the feature into your garden setting. An inscription can be stone cut or added to your pedestal as a Perspex plaque, inscribed with a name, dates and any additional wording that you would like, such as a phrase or quote.
You may alternatively opt for something a little more discrete, such as a memorial block. These can either be left plain to decorate as you wish, or inscribed with a short message. Memorial blocks are often found placed at a grave site where a plot has been arranged, or kept at home in the garden to act as a nearby remembrance point.
Many people then decorate the surrounding memorial area with planted flowers, planters or plant pots, and even include the addition of a relatable stone statue or garden ornament.
Memorial benches
Additionally, benches are a popular, traditional way to remember a loved one, usually placed in the garden or at a communal location where memories were made, such as a park or club. Benches can be inscribed, or have an inscribed plaque dedicated to your loved one. See our range of benches with memorial inscription available, which we can deliver direct to your home, or to your pre-arranged location of choice.
