Sally Asked:
I would like to use this as an above the ground pond. Is it deep enough to be safe for the fish over the winter months? How many gold fish would it take and is it big enough to take a proper filtration system?
We Replied:
Dear Sally
Thank you for your question.
The minimum depth for goldfish is 46cm but we only recommend these pools as temporary housing for fish not a long term pool.

Simon Asked:
I am looking to enlarge my current pond before the winter sets in. I need a holding tank to keep my koi while I knock through the barrier between my existing pond and the new extension to it. How long would you recommend keeping fish in this tank? My thoughts are that it'll be OK as the fish slow down as the temperature falls so size is not such an issue for the short term, but I need to let the new pond settle before introducing my fish. My other thought is a large/deep enough paddling pool but I'm not sure on the suitability of the plastic to the health of the fish.
We Replied:
Dear Simon,
Thank you for your question.
This is all dependent on the size of the koi and the amount of them, as this tank will only hold around 5-10 medium sized koi, preferably for no longer than 5-7 days. Throughout that time you will need to keep the water agitated with ether a pump or air pump. The larger version of this tank would be more suited for larger numbers of koi. You will need to leave your new pond for anywhere between 1-2 weeks and if possible get the water tested before introducing the koi back into the pond. Koi can become scared and try and jump out of new locations, so where possible we would recommend covering the pool with a net.
