They can be secured onto concrete or similar hardstanding or by incorporating the Sub-base Fixture they can be secured into shrub beds or even in a lawn.

Long Term garden Lighting

After plenty of searching I settled on the Heimdal mini lamp post from Kons-smide to use as feature lighting in my garden. I did not want to light up the garden, but simply add some 'marker' lights to generate atmosphere in the back garden, particularly in the darker months. I chose the black rather than the silver as my property is older and the silver version looks more modern. As they had to go into the borders and the lawn I had to add the sub-base frame which is very substantial once buried. The lights simply bolt on top. A trench needed to be dug to protect the armoured conduit which links the lights together. An electrician is needed to wire them up. Some upheaval indeed, but I did not want to be replacing these lights every few years so chose to go with mains lighting rather than LV lighting. The quality and effect is superb and I'm glad I chose them. They give off a warm glow, unlike LED lighting which can be harsh. The metal posts are very substantial indeed. Five stars for quality and delivery but only four stars for value as the cost of the lights, sub-frame base and electrician mean they were not a cheap option. Spare parts (like the lens) are available from this company so I know I won't have to scrap them if there is some damage or deterioration in the future.
