Description

The Small Shell Girl from Borderstone appears to have just emerged from the shell in which she is still standing and that acts as a decorative base to the statue.

Her magnificent mane of hair flows all around her body and she is turning away from attention with an arm across one breast as if embarrassed.

It's clear that she is very beautiful but seems to lack elegance and poise, and this slight awkwardness in her disposition has been skilfully captured in cast stone.

This is another superb piece from Borderstone whose catalogue features a complete range of statues and ornaments to decorate your garden.

Available in two colour options. Image shows painted in Antique Sandstone. Select your colour below.

Questions and Answers (1)
Michael Woods Asked:

What is the history of the Shell Girl?

We Replied:

Dear Michael Thank you for your question. This feature depicts Aphrodite, the ancient Greek goddess of love and beauty, emerging from her shell. It is inspired by the 'The Birth Of Venus' by Botticelli, a painting that is displayed in the Uffizi Gallery in Florence. Should you wish to contact us further or to place an order, please call us on 0121 355 7701. Thank you for using our online Q&A system. Kind regards Gaby
