Description
The Laser Guard by Velda is an all-year-round prevention device to scare aware herons and other pests who may be preying on your pond fish.
The laser guard is able to detect movement up to 12 metres away, within a 100° angle of the device. This offers a wide coverage to help prevent herons and other prey with its built-in selection of light, laser and sound scare methods.
The flashlight has variable frequencies which makes the area unpleasant for prey, in the hope that they will leave. If that doesn't work, then as herons are known to be sensitive to green colours, the green laser beam shines across the pond, being interpreted by the heron as a dangerous obstacle. Lastly, the integrated speaker offers multiple sounds from barking dogs to the cry of poison frogs, which are able to deter prey in a more audible manner.

Since installing Velda laser guard I have stopped seeing herons at dawn and dusk. At the pond one day it was turned off and a heron was at the pond when I got up at day break - so providing they do not get used to it - then its great.
