Conventional beads have been replaced by K1 Micro as the main filter media, this creates a tremendously large surface area and noticeably improved filtration, both mechanical and biological.
Good bacteria are not washed away in the cleaning cycle, just the dead bacteria and debris, and no ammonia or nitrate spikes will be apparent.
Equally impressive are the restricted operating costs, only a cost efficient low wattage pump is required due to the unimpeded flow of water.
