Description
A Kensington 6ft 5ins wide x 8ft 5ins long lean to from Elite is an impressively manufactured aluminium greenhouse. Already well appointed, you have the chance to create a bespoke structure to your own design using optional accessories.
As the frame is rigid aluminium, it's maintenance free, with no rusting or warping, The bolts and fixings are high tensile and extremely strong. With a powder coating the frame can be finished in one of several colours or a silver milled aluminium finish can prove very attractive.
With accessibility a priority it is reassuring to know that in addition to a sliding door fitted at either or both gable end, single or double doors can be installed on the front of the greenhouse. This also increases the number of positions where the greenhouse can be located.
Problems with stagnant air and humidity can arise in a greenhouse if there isn't enough air circulation, that's why a single roof vent and a five blade louvre are fitted as standard. Cooling air is drawn in and circulates on different levels, this means that the greenhouse never becomes overheated. to save time and effort, automatic vent openers are optional and will be particularly useful if you have to leave the greenhouse unattended for any length of time.
If you position the lean to over a household entrance you must have toughened glazing. If not there are the alternatives of horticultural glass or polycarbonate. Bar capping is optional, it looks good, secures the glazing and increases water resistance.
By installing a collection kit to the heavy duty guttering, water can be directed into a butt for recycling. Plants prefer rainwater to tap water and you will be helping to conserve this increasingly precious resource.
All these alternatives, and many more, will create a great growing and working area and one more essential would be sstaging and shelving. There's already a useful extruded shelf that can be go on the side or end, but if you want to sow seed and pot plants you need to consider Elite's impressive range of optional staging.
The greenhouse must have a base for a stable and level footing. This can be constructed from bricks or similar material, or alternatively save yourself the effort by choosing an alloy base that can be colour co-ordinated with the frame.

Option 2 > Choose Your Greenhouse Glass
We offer three different types of glazing: 3mm Horticultural Glass which is pre-selected by default, but you can upgrade to single sheet Toughened Glass between 3mm - 4mm thick or 6mm Polycarbonate Glazing here.
As Horticultural Glass is included in your frame price it is a NO COST option. The additional cost of Toughened Glass or Polycarbonate Glazing is indicated below.

with 3mm Horticultural Glass
Horticultural 3mm float glass as traditionally used in greenhouses. This is the standard minimum specification and is INCLUDED with your frame choice.
Provided in traditional panes which are supported using overlapping clips. This type of glass isn't recommended if you have children or pets around due to the more fragile nature.
with Single Sheet Toughened Glass
Toughened to British Standard Class 6206 Grade A and European Standard EN12150 for maximum light and extra safety. All toughened glass models in this range utilise full sheet glass in the roof and side walls. This makes for a much cleaner line with no build up of moss or algae where the sheets of glass would normally overlap.
The thickness of the glass varies, the long roof and side panels are 4mm thick whilst the shapes and smaller rectangles are 3mm thick.

with 6mm Polycarbonate Glazing
As well as the safety element it is a superb insulator, with the air trapped between the inner and outer skin acting as a mini double glazing unit. This will reduce winter heating costs. To aid growing polycarbonate defracts the sun's rays twice as it passes through the twinwall. This effect disperses the light far more evenly around the greenhouse. Supplied in a full sheet format and offers a more opaque appearance.
Option 3 > Do I Need a Base?
Yes - in most cases you simply do. Greenhouse frames need to lip over a base (or upstand) which also allows the door to lip under the frame. The base also gives you the required height needed inside your greenhouse. Without a base your greenhouse would be 5ins too low. Alternatively, you can build a brick base but you will need to be accurate with your measurements.
Preformed alloy base frame plinths are available in either milled silver aluminium or powder coated to match your chosen frame colour. With the use of a base plinths, optional modification is possible to create a drop door / low threshold area at the door entry, this extends the door lower down to the ground and removes the bulk of the base plinth at this area, so that there is no large step-over. This modification will require a custom quote, so please contact us in advance, or put your order through as a quotation within the checkout stage and we will get back to you with a no-obligation quote.
No Alloy Base Required
Select this option if you intend to build your own Brick Base. Please note that the number of bricks used in the base height will result in a higher step-over into the greenhouse. Overlapping cills demonstrate a need for accuracy when building a brick base.

Option 4 > Bar Capping?
Bar capping is a continuous strip glazing system used instead of glazing clips, this gives a far neater streamlined appearance. It's made from PVC and is UVI treated.
Please Note: Bar Capping is NOT suitable for use with horticultural glass. But is recommended for use with single sheet toughened and polycarbonate glazing.

Would you like an Internal Partition? This option enables you to divide your greenhouse into 2 sections. This is ideal where you wish to create areas or zones for plants with differing needs.
Available in milled silver aluminium or powder coated coloured finish, complete with integral base and single door. You can also choose to have Bar Capping and all the glazing options are available.
If you choose an Internal Partition you will need to check 1 of the first 3 boxes below. You then add to your initial choice by checking any other appropriate boxes. You may have to check up to 4 check boxes. This is a complex option so please choose carefully!

The AuotVent is an automatic window-opener. It's able to open and close a roof vent within a certain celsius range to vent your greenhouse when it gets overly hot. One Ventomatic will be required per Vent.

Elite's super strength slatted Aluminium or Power-Coated staging can be fitted to any Elite greenhouse through the use of cantilever bracing, which is attached directly onto the greenhouse framework with no visible legs, also keeping clear valuable workspace underneath.
You can have staging down one or both sides of your greenhouse, either to fully fit the sides or just to partially cover.
Please Note: In order to fix staging against a wall, as opposed to the greenhouse framework, you will be required to source your own fixings.

By adding a shelf or two to your greenhouse, you'll have added workspace areas to store small tools, pots and seedlings. Each set of shelves comes complete with the necessary braces to install them to your Elite greenhouse frame.
Shelving can be installed on both sides of your greenhouse.
Each shelf can be adjusted to any height you require and fit your greenhouse framework with the included diagonal braces.

Elite's aluminium hybrid panels come as a complete set to replace the section of glazing at the bottom of your greenhouse, offering an extremely strong, virtually unbreakable on-impact durability which is great to protect your greenhouse from being hit or knocked with the lawnmower, stones and pets.
If you have chosen standard silver aluminium for your greenhouse frame, then you will need to choose a powder-coated colour for your hybrid frames (hybrid panels are not available in plain silver). Colours available are:
Green, White, Black, Graphite, Brown, Berry, Olive, Stone, Mocha or Navy.
Please let us know your colour choice in the Notes section during checkout.
If you have chosen a powder-coated colour for your greenhouse frame, then the hybrid panels will be colour matched to that colour unless otherwise stated.

with Electric Palma 2KW Heater
A 2KW Electrical floor-standing heater that is ideal for smaller greenhouse where space is limited.
Using the separate digital thermostat you can set temperatures in the range of -50°C to + 99°C with an unrivalled output of 2000 W and air circulation rate of 400 m3/h. This ensures that your greenhouse is always maintained at the right level.

Each kit comprises of pipe work and outlets for one end of each gutter and stoppers to terminate the opposite ends. The system works by collecting the rainwater into a barrel or other designated outlet. Compatible with Elite’s unique half round integral gutter only.

Bespoke Product Procedure
This product range is made to order on an order-by-order basis, therefore is exempt from our usual cancellation and returns policy. Any cancellations after your order has started production may not be able to be cancelled or may be subject to cancellation charges. Although a very rare occurrence, this does not affect any orders that arrive damaged or faulty, whereby our normal terms on receiving a faulty product will apply.
Vehicles We Use
Items will be delivered on larger lorries which can get to most places it's typically a Class II, 15 tonne, 11’4” high, 30’ long and 8’6” wide lorry. This may depend on the item that is being delivered and should you have any concerns with restricted access to your property we ask you to contact us prior to placing an order.
Unloading Of Your Delivery
Due to the nature of this product, delivery will be made to the front of the property to the nearest location. Our drivers will not carry these items inside your home or back garden. When the item is delivered on a pallet, the pallet and packaging are non-returnable. Goods can only be manoeuvred on a flat and level surface (i.e. not a gravel driveway) by a pallet truck. On some occasions the driver will split the package to assist with manoeuvring of the item. Once you are happy, we will ask you to check the condition of the goods and sign for the delivery.
