An excellent product but would benefit from a design review

I am basically very happy with my new garden arch, however I feel that a design review would improve it further with out incurring much additional cost. The top construction of the arch is fine as it has ample rigidity. The four legs however get very little support from the side trellising. I fitted four pieces of 2"x1" to the uprights & anchored the trellis to this in order to achieve great stability

Easy to Build and perfect result.

Forewarned by others that this could be difficult to put together, I used large clamps to keep the legs the correct distance apart. This helped with the rigidity and I was completed the 'building' (and painting) easily and, with help, take it to its site to drop into four Met-posts. Makes an excellent addition to the garden. Thank you.

good value

Good product, easy assembly, reasonable sturdiness considering the price. The product had one post with a minor split as it is quite common with softwood. It did not affect the quality or use of the arch in our case.

Satisfied but not thrilled!

When we received this product one of the vertical supports was badly split however it was quickly replaced within a week. It was difficult to build the arch as the joints needed to be hammered to get them to slot together. This wasn't too difficult when making the arch at the top but when assembling the arch to the vertical posts it was a two man job with one up a ladder to do the hammering!! The finished item looks solid and attractive but for the price we paid I felt the assembly was too laborious and could have been made so much easier if the joints had been cut more accurately.

Ray Jordan Asked:

What plants can i grow over this arch? Is there a better price you can offer me on this as i have bought two in the past?

We Replied:

Dear Ray Thank you for your question. You can grow clematis for spring colour or jasmine for summer colour and scent. If you choose a climbing rose select Zephrine Druin, a thornless climber. We appreciate your previous purchases but our prices are super keen as you know so we are unable to offer any additional discount. Should you wish to contact us further or to place an order, please call us on 0121 355 7701. Thank you for using our online Q&A system. Kind regards David Coton

Thomas Asked:

Could you let me know the width between the posts, I need it to fit over a pathway that is 4ft wide?

We Replied:

Dear Thomas Thank you for your question. The width is adjustable, you can extend the arch upright to 1.40m (4ft 7ins) wide. However the uprights will be at the very end of the curved rafters and the uprights are each 2.7ins thick, so will just about fit. Should you wish to contact us further or to place an order, please call us on 0121 355 7701. Thank you for using our online Q&A system. Kind regards Nathan James Dodd

Graham Menzies-Smith Asked:

Should the uprights of all your arches be embedded in concrete for sturdiness?

We Replied:

Hello Graham Thank you for your question. If you intend on keeping the Arch up long-term, although not 100% required, we would recommend to embed the bottom posts in concrete as you suggested. Alternatively you may purchase fixing spikes which can be attached to the base posts and then simply driven into the ground A version of these spike fixings can be seen here as a reference: /Landscaping/Forest_fencefast_easyfit_spike_Spike_length_750mm.htm Should you wish to contact us further or to place an order, please call us on 0121 355 7701. Leone Cockburn Asked:

How much do you charge for painting this arch?

We Replied:

Dear Leone Thank you for your question. Unfortunately, we do not supply this item painted, it only comes in a timber finish. Should you wish to contact us further or to place an order, please call us on 0121 355 7701. Thank you for using our online Q&A system. Kind regards Lauren

Mike Asked:

I am interested in buying a Moonlight Garden Arch, is the quoted width of 140cm the distance between the post or the distance from outer edge of one post to other edge of the post?

We Replied:

Dear Mike Thank you for your question. The width shown on the product page reflects the maximum width, including the slight arch overhang. Should you wish to contact us further or to place an order, please call us on 0121 355 7701. Thank you for using our online Q&A system. Kind regards Lauren
