Dave Wesley Asked:
So that I know what post spikes to purchase, what are the post dimensions?
We Replied:
Dear Dave
Thank you for your question.
You will require spikes that take a 90 - 95mm square post. This Pergola is designed to go in the ground but you can obviously use spikes if you want.

Keith Asked:
Can you easily customise the width of the pergola if the standard width is too large?
We Replied:
Dear Keith
Thank you for your question.
You can indeed adjust the width however it would have to sit onto the next rafter along.

Amanda Asked:
Could the arch sit against a fence on a patio?
We Replied:
Dear Amanda
Thank you for your question.
This would be fine. We would advise possibly fixing it to the floor or to the fence for safety.

TRICIA LESLIE Asked:
Is the Ultima Pergola freestanding or does it have to sit in cement, if so, how deep into the cement should the posts go?
We Replied:
Dear Tricia
Thank you for your question.
You can have the pergola freestanding, however we do recommend fixing in place in case of strong winds. You can use bolt down anchors or L brackets. If you want to set the posts in cement then we'd say approximately 6 inches deep.

Sephen Docherty Asked:
What is the outside dimension of the lattice panel. The reason I am asking is that the pergola will be backing on to a full height hedge and I would like to fit the same type of lattice to the back of the pergola similar to the side lattice panels with an additional upright post in the middle. This will give me an enclosed pergola on 3 sides. Can this be done and what would be the additional cost for the 2 panels and a post. Thank you
We Replied:
Dear Sephen,
Thank you for your question.
The dimensions of the trellis are 180 x 60cm. Please follow this link to the item on our website.

Jack Asked:
What wood preservative do you recommend for the Large Ultima Pergola Arch to keep it exactly the same colour as when purchased?
We Replied:
Dear Jack
Thank you for your question.
If you wish to preserve the natural colour of the wood as when purchased, we would advise using a clear wood stain, such as Sadolin ClearCoat, which can be found in most large DIY stores.
I hope that this information helps.
