About Churnet Valley Products

Churney Valley furniture is eco-friendly because it's crafted from timber only sourced from Scandinavian forests that are protected by the Forestry Stewardship Council (FSC). This means that trees are cut down responsibly and many more are replanted in their place. On top of this, all products are pressure treated, which adds protection against the elements for up to 20 years. A lot of other garden furniture on the market nowadays is made to be disposable and to last for as little as three to four years, however, Churnet Valley products will last nearly four times as long, putting less of a strain on our forests and natural resources.

About Wooden Products

All Churnet Valley products are hand made, from wood which is a natural product. As much as the crafters try their best to get rid of splinters and rough edges, we can't guarantee that it will be 100% smooth planed. There may be slight imperfections like cracks or splits in the wood that may occur with changes in the weather, these natural characteristics are due to the wood losing moisture during warm and dry seasons, and during exposure to intense sunlight. During colder and wetter seasons the wood will uptake moisture again which will reduce these splits or cracks, This is of no detriment to the product however if you are worried how the furniture looks cosmetically then we would recommend using a clear decking oil on the furniture but only apply this once the wood has dried out fully.

Unloading Of Your Delivery
Some of our products will arrive on a pallet, some will arrive fully assembled and some part assembled - please see product description. The delivery driver will have to leave the pallet at the front of the house either on a drive or in a front garden. If you do not have either of these it would be advisable to be in when the driver arrives so that you can unload the pallet and place the product somewhere safe. Disposal of any leftover pallet and/or packaging is that of the customer's responsibility.

Vehicles We Use
Items will be delivered on larger lorries which can get to most places it's typically, a 7.5 ton lorry which is about the size of a dustbin lorry, this will depend on the item that is being delivered and should you have any concerns with restricted access to your property we ask you to contact us prior to placing an order.
