Michelle Asked:
I would like to secure the 8ft x 5ft Venetian Corner Arbour Seat to an elevated decking area. Is the product suitable for securing with metal brackets or should it be sunk into the ground?
We Replied:
Dear Michelle
Thank you fo your question.
The product is fine on a decking area. In fact we had a similar building on a raised decked area in our garden centre. Due to the weight it won't need securing down unless you want to.

Eric williams Asked:
Does the slatted roof stop the rainwater from getting through?
We Replied:
Dear Eric
Thank you for your question.
The roof is not waterproof. However, I have been under it in a storm and been dry so it does depend on the direction of the rain.
Other Gazebos with a solid roof are available at https://www.gardensite.co.uk/Garden_Structures/Garden_Gazebos/

Colin Truman Asked:
Can you configure the arbour seat for the longest side to be on the left of right, or only as the picture indicates longest side on the right?
We Replied:
Dear Colin
Thank you for your question.
The product cannot be changed as it is not a bespoke product. The product has equal lengths as seen in the diagram

Nick Cooke Asked:
I am confused by the dimensions and would appreciate your clarification.
Does width mean distance from the left hand corner looking head on at the arbour to the right hand corner - measured at the base of the roof - and footprint from the equivalent posts at ground level?
Does depth mean from the extreme back corner directly away from the entrance to the front edge at the base of the roof, and then footprint again at ground level?
We Replied:
Dear Nick
Thank you for your question.
Measurements are always maximum (end of roof for example) unless otherwise stated. Yes the footprint is the base as opposed to the roof measurements which are slightly more due to the overhang. I have amended the dimensions to make it easier to understand.

Brian Wiseman Asked:
How easy would it be to extend the tongue and grooved backs to the same level as the bottom of the sides? I'd rather have the backs of the seats shielded from the wind and weather. Could the manufacturer supply the necessary materials?
We Replied:
Dear Brian
Thank you for your question.
Relatively easy as you can use the uprights to secure any additional wooden boards to create more shelter from wind and rain. The T&G boards can be sourced from your local DIY store.

June Asked:
I shall be shortly ordering this product and the intended site is against a 150cm fence on the two back sides. For future maintenance is it easy to remove the back panels for painting or staining?
We Replied:
Dear June
Thank you for your question.
You would need to access the back panels from outside to remove them. So the simplest and quickest option might be to get enough able bodied guys simply to pick it up and move it out and back in again, obviously bearing in mind the weight with regard to all health and safety considerations.

I am still confused about the dimensions of the Venetian Corner Arbour. What is the width of the front edge of the bench seat? And what is the width of the back edge of the bench seat? I am trying to determine if 4 people can sit comfortably.

Dear Pete
Thank you for your question.
This arbour will seat three adults comfortably, and four depending on their size.
The front bench length is 31ins at the front and 46ins along the back.

Ann Hall Asked:
What is the best type of base for this arbour seat?
We Replied:
Dear Ann
Thank you for your question.
Ideally the legs will need to stand on a hardstanding surface like a slab, bricks, concrete, decking or compacted ground otherwise they will sink into the ground.

Ian Asked:
Would this arbour seat be more secure if screwed into metal spike 'shoes'? Do you supply these and, if so, what's the price for six?
We Replied:
Dear Ian
Thank you for your question.
We have had one on display in our garden centre coffee shop area for the past year and it is not secured. It is in a sheltered spot on paving slabs and as a result has not needed to be secured. The seat will need securing if it is in an exposed spot where the wind could blow it over.
