Peter Rix Asked:
Can the foundation kit for the Duramax Sidemate be placed directly onto level ground or should it be fixed to a solid base ?
We Replied:
Dear Peter
Thank you for your question.
We would always recommend a solid slab or concrete base to stop any movement which might happen with ground that gets wet.

Alan Edwards Asked:
We want to position this shed on a tarmac area which at one point has a dip in it. If we order the foundation kit will this nullify the problem and what is the foundation kit made of?
We Replied:
Dear Alan
Thank you for your question.
This is a difficult question with the information you have provided, if you could email a photograph we might be able to advise. As for the foundation kit, it won't necessarily rectify the issue. The foundation kit is made up of a galvanised steel frame.

Angie Asked:
Can the roof slope either way? Do you need the floor kit if it is being fitted on a perfectly level floor area? Is there an internal floor to the shed?
We Replied:
Dear Angie
Thank you for your question.
One side of the shed is higher than the other. However, you can put the door at either end. It has no internal floor. You can select a foundation kit to create a floor. The kit is designed to create a level floor for the shed. It will need to be level though.

Colin Asked:
I am considering buying the Duramax 8x4 pent roof shed as a lean-to against the house. It will be exposed to very strong winds. Is the shed securely fastened to the base and can the upper part be fastened to the wall?
We Replied:
Dear Colin
Thank you for your question.
The base of the shed can be secured to a hard standing floor using hilti screws and you can also screw the side of the shed to the wall.

Joyce Asked:
If this is fixed without the foundation kit will water leak into the shed underneath?
We Replied:
Dear Joyce
Thank you for your question.
If it is going on to a flat surface then water should not leak under the shed. However, we would always advise using a silicon sealant at the base to prevent any water getting through.

Sara Ward Asked:
If two sheds and two bases were purchased, could they be joined to make a secure shed?
We Replied:
Dear Sara
Thank you for your question.
If you attempted to modify the sheds and bases you would invalidate the guarantees. They are manufactured as standalone products, and not designed to be joined.
That is not to say it could not be done by a competent DIY enthusiast.

Paul Asked:
Can the plastic panels be easily cut so that I can fit an electrical box?
We Replied:
Dear Paul
Thank you for your question.
The simple answer is yes BUT if you cut the panels you will be invalidating your guarantee. Far better to come up under the floor. As with all electrical work, as I'm sure you know, it will need to be certified by a qualified electrician.

k jones Asked:
Can you please confirm that the shed is able to be erected next to a brick wall as there will be no room to manoeuvre it into position?
We Replied:
Dear Sir / Madam
Thank you for your question.
In regards to installation, it is advised that a minimum of 1 metre of free space is available around each side of the base area in order to install the shed.
Due to to the need for access to certain areas of the shed while installing it, we unfortunately could not recommend assembling the product up against a wall that may block access to one or more of its sides.
