Description
An Ecobase Fastfit plastic shed base kit suitable for 10ft by 8ft garden sheds.
Simple to install, the 10x8 plastic shed base can be placed straight onto grass, dirt, decking, patio or any other hard standing surface and provides a solid raised base for a garden shed, summerhouse, playhouse or garden building.
Provided as thirty-five 50cm square grids, each grid is easily secured together using the self-fastening connectors. They're a cost-effective solution as they're lightweight and compact enough to be delivered straight to your home and can easily be installed, extended or moved around as and when needed within your garden.
A water-permeable membrane is included as standard which is designed to be placed underneath the base to allow drainage and to inhibit the growth of weeds.
The inner cells can be filled with gravel, concrete or a mixture of both. Concreting the corners of the Ecobase will allow a solid place to anchor your building down if required. Wooden sheds with integral floors are usually heavy enough to place down directly on top of the grid without any anchorage, providing a long-lasting, durable and practical surface.

Separate Delivery
If purchased with another product e.g a shed or summerhouse, your Ecobase will be delivered separately via a different courier and will generally arrive before your structure so that you may set it up in place beforehand.
Ecobase Sizing Compared to Sheds/Structures
As Ecobases are made up of 50cm square grids and due to garden building sizes not being made to half-metre/one-metre measurements, some overhang of the base may occur around the edges of your structure.

How is the shed fixed to the base?
We Replied:Dear Elizabeth Thank you for your question. There is really no way of securing the shed to the plastic base as it is. However we would recommend filling the corners of the plastic base with concrete and securing the shed via those corners using the bolt downs. The rest of the grid can then be filled with gravel. Is this base UV protected and weather resistant i.e. won't shrink in colder weather etc?
We Replied:Dear Tracy Thank you for your question. These Ecobase shed bases are resistant to UV rays and can be used in temperatures as low as -50ºC and as high as 65ºC. They also boast a low linear expansion rate, with expansion and contraction cells built into the design. What is the size and weight of the package when delivered? Can I fill the base with pea gravel so it is level and stable for wheelchairs and people with limited mobility?
We Replied:Dear Ann Thank you for your question. The 10x8 Ecobase will arrive in four easy to handle packages.The largest package is 50cm x 50cm x 40cm and the weight is no more than approximately 15kg per package. The base can be filled with pea gravel, and each of the 35 grids can take around 18kg of 10mm pea gravel each to fill the cavities to the top.
