The Pontec PondoSolar 600 is an attractive solar fountain pump set which is suitable for water features and ponds.
This fountain does not require a power connection, instead it comes with a rechargeable battery which is charged by the solar panel. It can be operated during the day because the pump is powered by the solar panel with any surplus power being used for charging the rechargeable battery.
The remote control that is also included can be used to programme the LED to automatically run for 1, 2, 3 or even 4 hours each night, as long as the battery has been sufficiently charged.

As I was buying this to replace an electric pump I was a bit worried about doing the change over. I needn't have worried as once I disconnected the old pump the solar 600 just connected straight to the old tubing of my water feature. The sun didn't appear for a couple of days but after the 1st day I decided to give it a try and it worked perfectly. Very pleased with it.
Can you recharge the battery through the mains? When there is very little sun as in the winter months will it charge sufficiently to maintain operation of the fountain? Do you have any retail outlets in North Wales?
We Replied:Dear Heather Thank you for your question. This unit will only charge via the panel and can run for up to 4 hours once fully charged, i am sorry to say we are based in the midlands only.
