Cleaning for example won't result in dirty hands as the foam cleaning handles do all the work for you and there's no need to remove the filters. There's even a useful pollutant level indicator to let you know when cleaning is necessary.

The integrated UV clarifier rids the water of algae, so the threat of green water is eliminated, and the foams deal with waste and toxins, and there's a sludge drain which removes coarse debris. 

In this value for money and highly efficient set there's also the Aquamax Classic 5500 pump. A compact design that can handle solids up to 8mm. Routine maintenance is simple and there's a standard Oase multi-stage hosetail, so this type of pump is both user friendly and very economical to run.
