Description

The Hozelock Ecocel 10000 is a pump fed external filter from a well regarded range that uses both mechanical and biological filtration to ensure that your pond water is of the highest quality.

Able to be sited virtually anywhere and partially buried, the filter will remove solids and convert dissolved organic and chemical fish waste into harmless compounds. Used in conjunction with a UVC, it will guarantee clear water.

Over many years Hozelock have developed highly efficient technology that features heavily in how this filter works. First of all. Water is sprayed and aerated to gain a high oxygen content, foam sheets trap solid particles and then beneficial bacteria cleanse pollutants.

Finally clean water is returned to the pond, ensuring the best aquatic environment for your fish and other pond inhabitants. A viewing hatch lets you check on the process and also allows you to see whether any maintenance is required.

Hozelock Ecocel 10000 Features:

  • Viewing hatch
  • Handles for easy lifting
  • High outlet allows partial burying
  • Weatherproof

David Swan Asked:

My pond water has been clear for 16 years with no filter. I now have a very fine black silt that is held in the water and does not settle. The water looks dark but you can still clearly see the bottom of the pond. Is there a filter that can remove the minute particles of silt.

We Replied:

Dear David Thank you for your question. It is very hard to remove silt from a pond by filtering. I suggest you use a Bermuda Silt Remover: https://www.gardensite.co.uk/Aquatics/Bermuda_Pond_Silt_Remover.htm Should you wish to contact us further or to place an order, please call us on 0121 355 7701. Thank you for using our online Q&A system. Kind Regards Dan Everton

david hook Asked:

Will this filter box be big enough for my 10000 pump?

We Replied:

Dear David Thank you for your question. This filter box has a maximum flow rate of 4500, so the pump would be too strong for this box unless you diverted half of the flow to a waterfall or directly into the pond using a T piece and a regulating tap. Should you wish to contact us further or to place an order, please call us on 0121 355 7701. Thank you for using our online Q&A system. Kind regards Dan Everton

Bob Roach Asked:

How do you measure the water content of a pond which is 9ft by 6ft (surface) with the longer side sloping from just below surface to 4ft at the base by about halfway point? And what size filter box is required to keep water clear?

We Replied:

Dear Bob Thank you for your question. In answer to your first question it is maximum length x maximum width x maximum depth x 6.24 for gallons, this will not take into account the shape of pond or different depths, to do this it is best to break down the pond into smaller sections. This blog might prove useful: https://www.gardensite.co.uk/blog/guides/how-to-calculate-your-pond-capacity Based on the sizes of 9 x 6 x 4 you would have 1347 gallons or 6065 litres, so the Ecocel 10000 Box Filter will be sufficient but you will need to factor in how much sunshine the pool receives in addition to the stocking level. Also, if you're stocking koi, most filters halve their capacity recommendation when koi are present. Should you wish to contact us further or to place an order, please call us on 0121 355 7701. Mick McAughey Asked:

Does this come with a UV feature and how much are replacement bulbs?

We Replied:

Dear Mick Thank you for your question. The Ecocel boxes do not have a UV unit supplied but the Ecopower boxes do have one. Please follow this link: https://www.gardensite.co.uk/aquatics/hozelock-ecopower-10000-uvc-pond-filter.htm Bulbs should be changed every 6-9 months and cost £9.99 Should you wish to contact us further or to place an order, please call us on 0121 355 7701. Thank you for using our online Q&A system. Kind regards Emily Russel
