Description

You might be an experienced gardener who wants a greenhouse in which to sow seed, perhaps grow tomatoes or have somewhere to pot on plants. Alternatively, a beginner will find the Venus Green 6ft x 4ft Greenhouse 2500 ideal to begin their horticultural journey.

After smoothly sliding open the single door, you’ll find more than enough space to grow a good range of flowers for the house and garden together with fresh vegetables for the kitchen.

The green powder coated aluminium frame, strengthened by roof braces, will not discolour. The door can go on the left or right and there’s a vent to regulate the temperature and humidity. Integral gutters collect rainwater that can be re-cycled, and there’s a choice of three glazing types each with very good light transmission.

Three types of glazing are available for your greenhouse. Choose from standard horticultural, long pane safety or polycarbonate options which let you customise your greenhouse to suit your needs.

with Horticultural Glazing (21133)

Standard 3mm glass which consists mostly of 2ft by 2ft panes, overlapping each other with the use of clips to hold one above another. This type of glass is traditional and very economical but tends to shatter into shards when smashed, so isn't recommended if you have children or pets.

Long pane safety glass is a lot stronger, and more durable than standard Horticultural glass. In the rare event of it shattering, it breaks into safer smaller pieces. It is also neater and needs less maintenance as no overlapping glass means there is no algae build up and no Z clips to fit.

Unfortunately, we are unable to deliver VitaVia greenhouses to allotments due to delivery carrier limitations.

Delivery Period
Delivery will typically be made within 10 - 30 working days (2 - 6 weeks) but may be extended during busy times of the year. For larger products, the carrier will call and book a convenient delivery date. For other products, a delivery date will be provided by email from the carrier, which will include a link to allow tracking online.

Vehicles We Use
Items will be delivered on larger lorries which can get to most places it's typically, a 15-ton lorry which is about the size of a dustbin lorry, this will depend on the item that is being delivered and should you have any concerns with restricted access to your property we ask you to contact us prior to placing an order.

Unloading Of Your Delivery
Due to the nature of this product, delivery will be made to the front of the property to the nearest location. Our drivers will not carry these items inside your home or back garden. When the item is delivered on a pallet, the pallet and packaging are non-returnable. Goods can only be manoeuvred on a flat and level surface (i.e. not a gravel driveway) by a pallet truck. On some occasions, the driver will split the package to assist with the manoeuvring the item. Once you are happy, we will ask you to check the condition of the goods and sign for the delivery.

A Good Product With Some Minor Issues

Firstly, I cannot fault Garden Site for their service. My greenhouse was delivered on time and I was kept up-to-date with the delivery process. The greenhouse itself is of pretty good quality but is let down by the following issues which could easily be addressed. The sliding door is flimsy and I really struggle at times to open and close it. Rather than a sliding door, a hinged mechanism might have been better. It’s also not very tight against the frame and this certainly contributed to lower nighttime temperatures during the recent cold spell. I ordered the bar capping option and on some windows it pops up slightly even though it is meant to clip into place. I might try refitting it at the end of the season. Lastly, although it’s my first greenhouse and I have no previous experience, I wasn’t expecting to have to draught-proof it. There were several gaps in the frame which I had to seal using silicone. I also had to use window draught excluders on the Louvre window as there were gaps between the panes even when fully closed. After doing all of this, the nighttime temperature increased by about 5 degrees. Having said all that, it is a pretty good greenhouse and my tomatoes, cucumbers and peppers are all doing really well. They do recommend that you use silicone to seal the windows which I didn’t do. I think that I will do this later in the year.
