Description
This is a fantastic opportunity to create your ideal greenhouse. The Elite Windsor 4ft x 20ft Lean To is already a magnificent structure, and you have the chance to equip it totally to your specifications.
Although very slim at 1.297 metres, its length creates plenty of working space and, with a low ridge, the lean to can be positioned in a wide variety of different places, against your house, a shed, even a fence.
Access is easy through a single sliding door that can be fitted at either end and will be made easier by fitting a further door. A low threshold can be installed so that the structure is wheelchair and wheelbarrow friendly.
Whatever glazing you prefer can be fitted, horticultural, polycarbonate or toughened, although the latter is necessary if the greenhouse is adjacent to your house through a doorway. Strong stainless steel clips fix the glazing in place and bar capping is available if you want to make it more secure and neater.
It isn't possible to locate the greenhouse on soil or grass, a base is required either constructed by yourself out of brick or slabs or using an Elite alloy base that will be a perfect fit and can be colour co-ordinated with the frame.
With all their experience, Elite know that air circulation within the greenhouse is important. That's why there's a roof vent already in place and a very popular louvre on their list of accessories. They can be both fitted with automatic openers, so useful if you spend any time away from home and want your plants to remain healthy.
With a greenhouse this size you must have a good amount of shelving and staging on which seed can be sown and plants propagated. Have look at the accessories list and you'll find so much to choose from in various styles and sizes.
And if, like most gardeners, you appreciate the value of re-cycling, a rainwater collection kit is a must have and can be easily fitted to the guttering.

Option 2 > Choose Your Greenhouse Glass
We offer three different types of glazing: 3mm Horticultural Glass which is pre-selected by default, but you can upgrade to 3mm single sheet Toughened Glass or 6mm Polycarbonate Glazing here.
As Horticultural Glass is included in your frame price it is a NO COST option. The additional cost of Toughened Glass or Polycarbonate Glazing is indicated below.

with 3mm Horticultural Glass
Horticultural 3mm float glass as traditionally used in greenhouses. This is the standard minimum specification and is INCLUDED with your frame choice.
Provided in traditional panes which are supported using overlapping clips. This type of glass isn't recommended if you have children or pets around due to the more fragile nature.
with 3mm Single Sheet Toughened Glass
Toughened to British Standard Class 6206 Grade A and European Standard EN12150 for maximum light and extra safety. All toughened glass models in this range utilise full sheet glass in the roof and side walls. This makes for a much cleaner line with no build up of moss or algae where the sheets of glass would normally overlap.
with 6mm Polycarbonate Glazing
As well as the safety element it is a superb insulator, with the air trapped between the inner and outer skin acting as a mini double glazing unit. This will reduce winter heating costs. To aid growing polycarbonate defracts the sun's rays twice as it passes through the twinwall. This effect disperses the light far more evenly around the greenhouse. Supplied in a full sheet format and offers a more opaque appearance.
Option 3 > Do I Need a Base?
Yes - in most cases you simply do. Greenhouse frames need to lip over a base (or upstand) which also allows the door to lip under the frame. The base also gives you the required height needed inside your greenhouse. Without a base your greenhouse would be 5ins too low. Alternatively, you can build a brick base but you will need to be accurate with your measurements.
Preformed alloy base frame plinths are available in either milled silver aluminium or powder coated to match your chosen frame colour. With the use of a base plinths, optional modification is possible to create a drop door / low threshold area at the door entry, this extends the door lower down to the ground and removes the bulk of the base plinth at this area, so that there is no large step-over. This modification will require a custom quote, so please contact us in advance, or put your order through as a quotation within the checkout stage and we will get back to you with a no-obligation quote.
No Alloy Base Required
Select this option if you intend to build your own Brick Base. Please note that the number of bricks used in the base height will result in a higher step-over into the greenhouse. Overlapping cills demonstrate a need for accuracy when building a brick base.

Option 4 > Bar Capping?
Bar capping is a continuous strip glazing system used instead of glazing clips, this gives a far neater, streamlined appearance. It's made from PVC and is UVI treated.
Please Note: Bar Capping is NOT suitable for use with horticultural glass. But is recommended for use with single sheet toughened and polycarbonate glazing.

Elite's super strength slatted Aluminium or Power-Coated staging can be fitted to any Elite greenhouse through the use of cantilever bracing, which is attached directly onto the greenhouse framework with no visible legs, also keeping clear valuable workspace underneath.
You can have staging down one or both sides of your greenhouse, either to fully fit the sides or just to partially cover.
Please Note: In order to fix staging against a wall, as opposed to the greenhouse framework, you will be required to source your own fixings.

By adding a shelf or two to your greenhouse, you'll have added workspace areas to store small tools, pots and seedlings. Each set of shelves comes complete with the necessary braces to install them to your Elite greenhouse frame.
Shelving can be installed on both sides of your greenhouse.
Each shelf can be adjusted to any height you require and fit your greenhouse framework with the included diagonal braces.

Elite's aluminium hybrid panels come as a complete set to replace the section of glazing at the bottom of your greenhouse, offering an extremely strong, virtually unbreakable on-impact durability which is great to protect your greenhouse from being hit or knocked with the lawnmower, stones and pets.
If you have chosen standard silver aluminium for your greenhouse frame, then you will need to choose a powder-coated colour for your hybrid frames (hybrid panels are not available in plain silver). Colours available are:

Bespoke Product Procedure
This product range is made to order on an order-by-order basis, therefore is exempt from our usual cancellation and returns policy. Any cancellations after your order has started production may not be able to be cancelled or may be subject to cancellation charges. Although a very rare occurrence, this does not affect any orders that arrive damaged or faulty, whereby our normal terms on receiving a faulty product will apply.
Vehicles We Use
Items will be delivered on larger lorries which can get to most places it's typically a Class II, 15 tonne, 11’4” high, 30’ long and 8’6” wide lorry. This may depend on the item that is being delivered and should you have any concerns with restricted access to your property we ask you to contact us prior to placing an order.
Unloading Of Your Delivery
Due to the nature of this product, delivery will be made to the front of the property to the nearest location. Our drivers will not carry these items inside your home or back garden. When the item is delivered on a pallet, the pallet and packaging are non-returnable. Goods can only be manoeuvred on a flat and level surface (i.e. not a gravel driveway) by a pallet truck. On some occasions the driver will split the package to assist with manoeuvring of the item. Once you are happy, we will ask you to check the condition of the goods and sign for the delivery.
