Description
There was a song in the '60s called 'Windmill in Old Amsterdam', it featured imaginatively crafted lines such as 'A windmill with a mouse in and he wasn't grousing'.
Maybe not a Grammy award winner but a song that was a favourite amongst children for many years. Windmills have also always been a popular sight for most people, not only in Amsterdam - they are reminders of a bygone age when the pace of life was slower.
There are very few working examples now, so Borderstone's cast stone Windmill Garden Ornament will introduce a reminder of the past when windmills used to be a common sight throughout the countryside.
This tremendously nostalgic ornament replicates a real windmill with sails blowing in the wind, and you can imagine them powering heavy millstones inside that crushed freshly harvested wheat with Dusting Miller filling sacks with the flour.

Fast Free Delivery within Mainland England, Wales & Southern Scotland.
Delivery to Scotland is inclusive up to and including Glasgow and Edinburgh but not above. Scottish Highlands (highlands as deemed by the carrier) will incur a separate delivery charge - See full delivery options on the product page.
Unfortunately, we cannot deliver to Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland or any other offshore island.
Delivery Period
All Borderstone products are made to order right here in the UK, on an order-by-order basis.
We aim to dispatch within 5 - 10 Working Days
Larger items including statues may take slightly longer as they are made to order. Timeframes may be extended during busy times of the year. For larger products, the carrier will call and book in a convenient delivery date. For other products, a delivery date will be provided by email from the carrier, which will include a link to allow tracking online.
Any cancellation of an order after your item has been crafted may incur in cancellation charges.
Vehicles We Use
Items will be delivered on larger lorries which can get to most places it's typically, a 7.5 ton lorry which is about the size of a dustbin lorry, this will depend on the item that is being delivered and should you have any concerns with restricted access to your property we ask you to contact us prior to placing an order.
Unloading Of Your Delivery
Due to the nature of this product, delivery will be made to the front of the property to the nearest location as a "curb-side delivery" service. Our drivers will not carry these items inside your home or back garden. When the item is delivered on a pallet, the pallet and packaging are non-returnable and the goods can only be manoeuvred on a flat and level surface (i.e. not a gravel driveway) by a pallet truck. On some occasions, the driver will split the package to assist with the manoeuvring of the item. Once you are happy, we will ask you to check the condition of the goods and sign for the delivery.
Once the delivery has been unloaded from off the driver's van, the customer has 10 minutes in order to unwrap and check the delivery contents for any damages before signing for and accepting a successful delivery. Any damages should be reported to the driver within this time frame, as once the driver has left, any claims for damages may not be successful.

Purchase of stone windmill
The product is excellent but the delivery was extremely poor. Driver was in a hurry and would not take product which was on wooden pallet in the back garden which was only a few feet away from where he left it. My wife and I had to drag the pallet with the heavy product on it which scratched our paving slabs. We also had to pay £40 to dispose of the pallet which was just left with us. Would definitely never buy anything from you again or recommit anyone. We have been left out of pocket and our property has been damaged. Very disappointed.

Although, cannot agree with your feedback regarding delivery as we do state on the product page underneath the Delivery Information section that: "Due to the nature of this product, delivery will be made to the front of the property to the nearest location. Our drivers will not carry these items inside your home or back garden. When the item is delivered on a pallet, the pallet and packaging are non-returnable" Most customers recycle the pallet or reuse the wood for a DIY project in their garden, and those with a firepit or wood-fired stove are more than happy to receive the free pallet which can then be broken down to use for kindling. I recently purchased the stone windmill
It was delivered in perfect condition really secure and well protected.It is absolutely beautiful in my garden and the detail is lovely.I also purchased the wishing well last year and together they look beautiful.Would definitely recommend this site to anyone.

Very attractive garden ornament, not very big, but blends nicely with the wishing well. Very neat and solid structure, I trust the plastic sails will withstand any strong winds.

Can you please tell me the height, width and depth of the windmill?
We Replied:Dear Alan Thank you for your question. The windmill is 61cm high, but if you add the sail height on in the upright position it extends to 70cm. The windmill (excluding sails) is 30cm deep / wide at the widest point. The sails are heavy duty plastic, but light so they turn easily.
