As this product is crafted from iron, natural rusting may occur over time. We recommend a yearly coating of clear lacquer or natural beeswax in order to keep the item in its original colour condition. Rusting is a natural aging process for iron when used outdoors.

I would like to put these on the top of my slate steps but I'm worried that they won't be heavy enough and could blow off or over in the wind, not sure if they would stay put. Could you give me an idea of the weight please so I can decide if they would be suitable?

We Replied:

Dear Janet Thank you for your question. They weigh about 1.75kg each. Having said that they are low to the ground and have wide flat feet making them pretty stable. I doubt the wind would blow them over but I don't know how exposed or sheltered your steps are. A tiny amount of exterior glue / mastic or a tiny blob of mortar mix on the bottom of the feet would certainly hold them.
