Description

Introduce the architecture of the Orient into your garden with a stunning seven piece pagoda from Borderstone.

Standing over 6 feet tall, this impressive edifice is part of a range of lanterns, Buddhas and other eastern themed items. It will bring height, intrigue and interest to your garden, a real focal point that will really get your visitors talking.

Although construction methods differ in various cultures, pagodas have become an icon of the east. Essentially they are simple tiered towers traditionally with an odd number of eaves. The word 'pagoda' is derived from the Portuguese word for temple and the buildings are closely connected to Buddhism as they housed religious relics and tracts.

Emerging as an architectural style many centuries ago, the finial, when made from metal, has a practical use as a lightning conductor and was referred to as the 'demon arrester'. Easily assembled from individual pieces of reconstituted stone, the Borderstone Seven Piece Pagoda is sturdily constructed and will age into a handsome garden feature.

Pagoda Dimensions:

  • Height: 190cm
  • Weight: 190kgs

Questions and Answers (6)

Tracey Thompson Asked:

Can the Borderstone 7 Piece Pagoda be painted with a stone masonry paint?

We Replied:

Dear Tracey Thank you for your question. This pagoda is traditional in style and finish and has a slightly 'rough' exterior which is conducive to growing moss and naturalising with the surroundings. Having said that you could paint it with the appropriate paint but it would require a 'stippling' method with your brush which could be time consuming. Val hammond Asked:

I know this comes in seven bits but how heavy is largest bit? Will I need a man to move it when delivered?

We Replied:

Dear Val Thank you for your question. I have been unable to ascertain the weight of the largest piece but I think you will definietly need some help to move it. The largest bits are the two bottom sections, which need a strong person to move. You also need to be able to lift each section as they fit on top of each other. Ian Bowman Asked:

Can you supply this pagoda in a brown finish? I ve seen the same pagoda at Tatton Flower Show today but in a pale brown/olive colour.

We Replied:

Dear Ian Thank you for your question. The image does not show the colour very well. It looks quite grey in the picture, however the product finish is actually 'antique green' and this may be the same colour you saw at the flower show. It is the only available colour. Should you wish to contact us further or to place an order, please call us on 0121 355 7701. Thank you for using our online Q&A system. Best regards Nathan James Dodd

Craig Asked:

Would it be possible for a competent DIYer to add lighting to the pagoda? Does each section have space inside it that would include a light of some sort?

We Replied:

Dear Craig Thank you for your question. It is possible to add lighting to this ornament. The beauty of the seven piece pagoda is that apart from the base and roof, all the other sections have space to enclose a light and also windows to let the light out. Should you wish to contact us further or to place an order, please call us on 0121 355 7701. Thank you for using our online Q&A system. Kind regards Lauren
