Worth Every Penny
These may seem expensive but you have to pay for quality and I was not disappointed. I appreciated the large choice, I went for platinum and teak and the combination looks tremendous. Excellent quality manufacture and, even considering the price, good value for money.

Equinox Sling Armchairs - A Design Classic
I bought my Barlow Tyrie Equinox Armchairs several years ago from GardenSite but there was not an ‘on page’ review system in place then so I have now retuned and reflect as well as review my purchase. The chairs had to be dispatched to Europe and GardenSite (Dan, I remember) organised this for me at an extra cost. I was concerned about the timing of the delivery and how they would arrive as I only had a window of a few days. They did arrive, but pretty close to the agreed cut off date. I need not of worried about them arriving safely as the packaging was very good, even down to each chair leg being covered in a plastic gauze stocking to stop any scratching against the next chair stacked on top. I chose the graphite sling with teak arms as I thought this combination would be hard to beat and would not date. I still think it was the right choice for me even though I have to teak oil the arms a couple of times every season to keep them looking new(ish). And that is about the only maintenance these chairs need with the exception of wiping the stainless steel legs down occasionally and hosing the bird droppings off the slings when required. Combining the slings with the teak arms I thought would give me a modern functional chair with a touch of tradition; the best of both worlds. I hadn’t really considered how comfortable the slings are but they give enough to accommodate your body and back without ever feeling insecure. Whether you are dining or relaxing with a book the slings give great support and comfort at all times. I had checked before purchasing whether you could buy spares (you can) because I was concerned they would sag and droop and look tired. Nothing could be further from the truth as they have retained their shape over quite a few years now and do not appear to be any older than when I first unwrapped them. The Equinox was the only steel and sling combination chair available from Barlow Tyre when I ordered but now there are several alternatives, some of which are very attractive. However the Equinox still looks the most generous, which is quite important when you have family and friends of all shapes and sizes. I also think the Equinox is a design classic. In total I bought 8 Equinox Armchairs and the Equinox 180cm Dining Table with stainless legs, with a Lazy Susan.
