The pump is fully submersible and once submerged it will suck water up through it's base, and propel it from it's outlet which takes a 25mm hose, which in turn can be guided out of the area being pumped.

This isn't just a drainage pump however, a fountain head attachment (not included) can be attached to the outlet to create stunning fountain displays atop a body of water such as a pond. The pump can also be used to power water features, in some cases two water features by way of splitting the hose (not included) that is attached to the outlet!
