We have a Hozelock Cyprio EasyClear 3000/4500. I have mistakenly washed the foam filter, biomedia and stones in tap water (I didn't read the instructions) and our pond is now green and fish are not well. What should I replace / add to it to make it well again?

I have a Hozelock EasyClear 6000 that is about four years old. It would appear that the pump motor has a water ingress as it keeps shorting out. Can I just replace the motor or is it better to replace the whole item?.
