Evolution Aqua Kaldnes K1 Media 1L

Kaldnes Moving Bed process, which has been scientifically tried and tested in fish farming and waste water treatment for over 10 years, is now available for fish keepers and is exclusively distributed worldwide by Evolution Aqua.

The media is engineered in a wheel shape and is slightly positively bouyant. This allows a small amount of water flow to circulate the media throughout the vessel. This flow is created with your air pump and air stones or diffuser etc. The wheel shaped media circulates with the water flow, providing the maximum active surface area for beneficial bacteria to colonise, removing harmful ammonia and nitrite from the water.

Due its shape, dead bacteria on the outside of the media is displaced and this allows space for younger bacteria to quickly establish. 

This means that Kaldnes provides the best possible habitat for both young and mature beneficial bacterial colonies, naturally following a lifecycle of maturing, dying and then fueling the latter stages of the nitrification cycle. 

As the media, unlike equivalent static products, self-cleans by constantly moving, Kaldnes K1 requires no maintenance. Because there's no need to clean, the filter has no unnecessary bacteria loss and remains at optimum effectiveness.
