Description
The Carmen Masonry Barbecue from Buschbeck is well built with excellent features and specifications, it will enhance your garden purely by its presence let alone the ability to cook large amounts of excellent food.
Although notably well over 6ft in height, the barbecue uses grey and terracotta to blend easily into the landscape. The 'stonework' can however be painted so that it matches any particular current colour scheme.
One feature that is extremely important is the BBQ's double skin construction, this allows you to cook traditionally with charcoal and then, later on, switch to logs and firewood, this transforms the barbecue into a fireplace around which your guests can gather.
Thee are a host of optional extras to choose from, you may prefer porcelain covered cast iron grill for example rather than the standard chrome grill, there's a gas burner insert to be used instead of charcoal and an artisan pizza oven.
With composite finished treated surfaces maintenance and cleaning even after intensive use. No surface treatments are required and the Carmen Masonry Barbecue will be the centrepiece of many parties well into the future.

Each Buschbeck barbecue is crafted using refractory concrete which is virtually maintenance-free and does not require any future painting unless preferred to change the colour scheme to fit your garden by painting the external areas (except the refractor areas). The only maintenance required is if it becomes 'weathered' or dirty, then a quick hose with a pressure washer or garden hose should sort the problem and have it looking as good as new! Previous customers are still using their Buschbeck's over 20 years later, so you know they're made to last!

We offer fast, free delivery within mainland England, Wales and southern parts of Scotland. (Delivery to Scotland is inclusive up to and including Glasgow and Edinburgh but not above.)
Mainland and upper Scotland areas (as deemed by the delivery carrier as above Glasgow/Edinburgh) and selected Offshore Isles will incur a separate delivery charge which can be found via the delivery options on the product page above.
Unfortunately, we cannot deliver to Guernsey, Jersey, Northern Ireland or the Republic of Ireland due to carrier restrictions.
Delivery Period
Delivery will typically be made within 3 - 5 working days but may be extended during busy times of the year. For larger products, the carrier will call and book in a convenient delivery date.
Vehicles We Use
Items will be delivered on larger lorries which can get to most places it's typically, a 7.5-ton lorry which is about the size of a dustbin lorry, this will depend on the item that is being delivered and should you have any concerns with restricted access to your property we ask you to contact us prior to placing an order.
Unloading Of Your Delivery
Due to the nature of this product, delivery of stone masonry bbq's will be made to the front of the property to the nearest location on a wooden pallet. Our drivers will not carry these items inside your home or back garden. When the item is delivered on a pallet, the pallet and packaging are non-returnable and the goods can only be manoeuvred on a flat and level surface (i.e. not a gravel driveway) by a pallet truck. On some occasions, the driver will split the package to assist with the manoeuvring of the item. Once you are happy, we will ask you to check the condition of the goods and sign for the delivery.
Orders for accessories-only (excludes base extensions) will be delivered via courier service as a small parcel.
Installing a Buschbeck Masonry Stone BBQ
All Buschbeck masonry BBQ's will require setup at home once delivered. Masonry BBQ's are delivered on a wooden pallet in around 8-10 sections for easier lifting, and the entire BBQ when built can weigh approx 400-450kg.
Full instructions and mortar is included with the delivery, allowing you to set up and mortar in place the concrete sections. Two people strong enough to lift heavy components are recommended to complete the setup.

Buschbeck Carmen BBQ
Delivery great - put it up at the top end of my (flat and level shared) drive next to my house so it wasn't in the way. Chrome plated grill not adequately packaged and so chrome scratched off in several places - contacted vendor and replacement sent quickly. The castings are quite rough with big air bubbles on the surface. This wasn't enough to put me off when I received it but be aware the finish looks much smoother in the pictures than in real life. As mentioned by others the individual pieces are very heavy. Take the video on the video on the buschbeck website with a pinch of salt, it shows two men handling all the pieces very easily - They must be superhuman. Also worth knowing (and I couldn't find this info anywhere) that when all put together the firebox is at a height of 60cm from the ground - useful if you're trying to decide if you need that base extension. Niggles aside it is now assembled it looks great and I am happy I bought it.

Buschbeck Carmen barbecue
The Carmen barbecue is certainly solidly built and makes a nice feature in the garden.The barbecue is delivered on a pallet and the sections are extremely heavy.Most of the sections need two persons to lift them and erect them. We painted the outer surfaces with masonry and have used it twice with great success.

Can the fireplace be used inside a building - I have a large barn I would like to use it in - it would of course have to have a proper chimney built - but if I did that would it be safe to use inside? And do you sell chimney extensions?

We Replied:Dear Joan Thank you for your question. These barbecues are made from reinforced concrete and should be able to withstand normal UK weather. If the barbecue's appearance becomes a little weathered, you can simply use a jet wash to clean it. However, if you live in a particularly windy or cold area such as the Scottish Highlands, we would recommend purchasing the barbecue cover for extra protection. We Replied:Dear Renae Thank you for your question. As the barbecue is built from refractory concrete, it's able to burn at high temperatures and emit quite a lot of heat. However, the actual heat output can vary and would be down to the fuel you use.
