With the worsening economic situation given the current cost of living crisis, it’s no secret that people all over the UK are looking for ways to reduce their spending. The inclement British weather makes the garden a popular place to start as our time spent outside is often limited due to unfavourable and unreliable conditions. GardenSite wants to contribute towards offsetting this by offering support to gardening enthusiasts, particularly landscaping, architectural and outdoor design businesses all over the country. Find out more with our handy Q&As below.

Why does GardenSite want to support landscapers?

People know us as an online garden centre, but what most don’t know is that we’ve also got a buzzing display site that is located within our physical garden centre, Hall’s Garden Centre in Sutton Coldfield, that has been open since the early 1960s. Being a fairly small family-run business that has developed over the last 60 years, it’s safe to say that we are passionate about all things gardening and wish to continue to expand our company with the times. One way that we can continue to build trust and create new relationships is by offering our services and support to trade professionals who wish to purchase from us… and what better way to do this than by offering financial support where possible.

Two members of the GardenSite team, Gaby and Matt, recently attended the Belvoir Castle Flower & Garden Show where they met landscapers and garden designers from all across the country who echoed this feeling and expressed interest and favourability towards receiving quality products at discounted prices.

Is this a new initiative or something that GardenSite has always done?

We have always provided support where we can over the years, whether that be by creating tailored quotations for businesses who request our best price for a particular product, donating £25,000 to the NHS during the COVID-19 pandemic or sponsoring local charities such as John Taylor Hospice. However, as previously touched upon, given the current economic climate, we are working to continue to adapt our business model with the times. We feel it is of the utmost importance to support the gardening and landscaping sector during this difficult period and believe offering financial aid is the best way to do so.

Which products does GardenSite offer discounts on?

There is no set-in-stone list of products that our team can offer reductions on - with over 12,000 products currently advertised on our website, it is not always possible to offer a discount on all of our ranges. This is due to availability, profit percentages and demand. However, we will always offer financial support where we can.

Do you offer a flat-rate trade discount?

We are unable to offer a flat-rate trade discount as we sell a massive amount of products that all differ in price and profitability, which means we have to calculate how much (if anything) we could offer off each product. Therefore, we look into each request on a case-by-case basis by creating individual quotations for customers.

How can my landscaping business request a quotation?

Requesting a tailored quotation from GardenSite is easy! You can either email us with your requirements, including your name and the name of your business, your delivery address, the product name and code, the quantity (i.e. 1,2,3,10+ of the item), an applicable telephone number and email address and we will manually create and send the quotation showing our best possible price to you.

Alternatively, you can do all of the above yourself online, by adding the product(s) to your GardenSite shopping basket, scrolling down and clicking on the ‘Quote Me Now’ button, entering your personal details, and clicking ‘Confirm’! Your quote request will then be emailed to our Customer Care team who will look into it and get back to you at their earliest convenience.

Which GardenSite products are most popular amongst landscape and garden design customers?

Without a doubt, our best-sellers within our sector are the Grange Freestanding Flower Circle Arch and the Hall’s Signature Freestanding Moon Gate Arch. Our Flower Circle has been a firm favourite for many years, especially after being featured on several occasions on ITV’s ‘Love Your Garden’ with Alan Titchmarsh. Our Moon Gate is a younger product that has sky-rocketed in popularity over the last 12 months. It’s exclusive to us here at GardenSite and is like nothing else on the market in terms of unique design and individuality.

Does GardenSite attend any trade shows or events?

Yes! Every year we attend GLEE, an international exhibition for all things gardening, leisure and pet related. We have also exhibited two years in a row at the Belvoir Castle Flower & Garden Show, donating a Flower Circle in 2022 and a Whitby Arch at this year’s event. We are also attending the LANDSCAPE Show this year with hopes of potentially exhibiting there in 2024.
