What's the inspiration behind the Barlow Tyrie Around collection?

If you’re looking to enhance your outdoor lounging and dining experiences in 2024, Barlow Tyrie’s ‘Around’ collection is certainly worth considering investing in. Boasting the perfect blend of both style and practicality, designers Nathalie de Leval and Andrew Jones have created a bespoke range of outdoor furniture that not only looks fantastic but also serves its functional purpose effectively.

All of the pieces from this elegant range have carefully considered yet simplistic designs to create a beautifully coordinated collection that is perfect for people who love to spend time entertaining in the garden. The clean and refined aesthetic is achieved by combining sturdy powder-coated frames with gently curved and subtly profiled edges that will cause intrigue in the most pleasing way possible. 

When asked about the creative vision behind their attractive designs, Jones and de Leval explained how they were inspired by spindle and steam-bent wood furniture with bold, eye-catching silhouettes and clean, formulaic detailing. They stated:

 ‘Through our hands-on process of design and prototyping, we create designs that have the right human scale, warmth and softness, and subtle details with careful attention to making. We pare designs down to the essence without removing the poetry.’

This collection certainly follows in suit of Barlow Tyrie’s existing ranges that are known for their seamless blending of impressive aesthetics with solid ergonomic performance.

Which products are included in the Barlow Tyrie Around collection?

The ‘Around’ lounging collection includes a sofa, loveseat, lounge chair and ottoman as well as modular sections that can be configured to suit any individual outdoor space. The lounge seating can have either a teak arm or a wrap-around high frame with side cushion and the dining collection offers two sizes for the dining table, plus a stacking chair, available with or without arms. The Deep Seating cushions are provided in Sunbrella weatherproof fabric as standard, with the stock colour being Taupe Chalk (10155), however, there are other special order colours available (options can be viewed on the relevant product pages). Is the Barlow Tyrie Around collection good value for money?
