Suncast is an already established brand when it comes to garden sheds and storage, one that we’ve been selling on GardenSite for 10 years now. David Coton, partner at GardenSite has recently visited the Suncast team at their UK headquarters in the Cheshire countryside to discover what plans they have in store for future products, and the development of their already impressive range.

Manufacturing garden products for over 25 years in the USA, Suncast quickly expanded to offering them worldwide. In the UK, their sheds and storage units have always been popular with our customers and David was eager to find out what was in store for the 2023 season in terms of new models and product ranges. He was met by Suncast directors Richard Greenhill and Duncan Pratt-Thompson who outlined their future plans for the brand, and the challenges that they face ahead of the 2023 season.

Of course, like many businesses at the moment, the main focus is on the steep rise in the price of materials, and so having to not pass on heavy price increases to customers is the key to supplying a great quality product, but at an affordable price point. Additionally, with Suncast’s products being manufactured in the US, the ever fluctuating exchange rate between the US dollar and pound sterling is another big consideration, so the team have been hard at work putting procedures in place so that any future, dramatic conversion rate changes won’t mean that customers end up having to pay more, stabilising the price for the year ahead.

Sales of sheds from within the current Suncast range remain strong, with clear indication that customers have been favouring metal and plastic sheds over timber, of which has seen dramatic price increases of up to 100% due to the cost of wood hitting new highs over the last 24-months. David noted that the top three selling Suncast products at GardenSite included the Suncast Tremont 8x10 shed, the much larger and spacious Suncast Tremont 8x16 shed, and thirdly the Golf Club Organiser which we also have featured this year as one of our top 10 Christmas present ideas in 2022.

In regards to new product lines, the range on GardenSite already includes two ‘Modernist’ models, which were new for 2022. The Suncast Modernist 6x5 shed and the Suncast Modernist 7x7 shed, both of which offer a striking design and modern dark tones, combined with the strength and practicality that you'd expect of a good quality shed. For 2023, they will be joined by a new bigger size, a 10 x 7ft version which will be perfect for those requiring a large storage space, that also features a unique barn-style door which slides open for easy access, revealing nearly 500-cubic-feet of storage room.

After meeting the Suncast directors, David was convinced that the quality of their products, and their increasingly attractive prices when compared with wood and metal equivalents will enable them to continue to offer an attractive garden storage solution for customers, whilst as a brand, gaining an even larger share of the shed market within the UK.

David ended the meeting stating:

"We look forward to continuing to build our relationship with a company whose products are renowned to be affordable, reliable, sustainable and stylish."
