Over 400 people took part in the Sunset Walk by John Taylor Hospice last year, raising an amazing and much-needed funds total of £32,500. That's why it's so important that this year's walk also takes place, although in a different format to ensure that it's Covid-safe.

Just like people and businesses, charities have also been hit by the Covid pandemic. This has limited their fundraising activites and led to many charitable events being cancelled. However, the Sunset Walk is an outdoor event with maximum shielding for all involved.

The event takes place on Saturday 3rd July 2021, starting at 17:00 at Wyndley Athletics Track. Fun entertainment will get everyone in a party mood and there's a group warm-up so that you're geared up forthe evening stroll. Once everyone is raring to go, at 18:30 the relaxed, socially distanced, 10k charitable walk begins, taking participants on a leisurely adventure through Sutton Park.

We're hoping that if you're local to the area that you'll come and join the fun while helping to raise vital funds for this amazing charity. Sign-up for the walk now, and you'll receive the route, your participant number, stickers, a guide to warming -up, a John Taylor Hospice t-shirt, a reusable water bottle, your medal and a mini bottle of prosecco for the finishing line and Sunset Party. Don't forget to ask your friends, family and work colleagues if they'll kindly sponsor your 10k walk with a small donation - every penny really does count!

You can follow the suggested route or there might be one that you prefer if it's more convenient or meaningful, and everyone is encouraged to post a #SunsetSelfie on Facebook at the start, at the finish and anywhere in between along the way!
