The Melbury is a contemporary, light and stylish log cabin constructed to Forest's highest specifications. This is ideal if you require a bright airy room for a office, gym or similar. With the very best specifications, the cabin boasts 34mm double tongue & groove cladding that provides impressive rigidity. Only high-quality Scandinavian timber is used, this is slow grown for strength and has a lovely close grain smooth finish.
The 19mm tongue & groove flooring is also top quality and able to support substantial weight, so you can be sure that this practical log cabin possesses great strength as well as good looks.
An extensive amount of windows with single glazing means the interior is a welcoming space with double doors providing easy access into what could be an office, gym or studio. And the stylish pent roof is covered in polyester felt. Security is offered by a rim lock and you have the choice of keeping the cabin's attractive natural appearance or painting it in a colour that blends or contrasts with the surroundings.

Wood Preservation
We advise that as the timber supplied for this log cabin is untreated, a wood preservative, stain, or paint is used on the product as soon as possible to increase its durability and waterproofing abilities. Ideally, at least the floor and bearers should be treated with an outdoor wood preservative before installation, as access may be restricted once fully installed.

If you don't have the time or requisite DIY skills, a home assembly service is available for this log cabin. This nationwide service is conducted by our skilled Forest installation teams at an agreed time that is convenient for you.
Please note that this service is assembly only. It does not include laying bases or disassembling existing buildings.
Installation Time Frame: The installation will not happen on the day of delivery, a separate date will be arranged prior to the successful delivery of the log cabin.
Home delivery and assembly is excluded in the following postcodes BT, GY, HS, IM, IV, JE, KA, KW PA, PH, PO, TR and ZE.

Delivery Period
Delivery will typically be made within 4 - 6 weeks (Please allow a few more days for parts of Scotland) but may be extended during busy times of the year. For larger products, the carrier will call and book in a convenient delivery date. For other products, a delivery date will be provided by email from the carrier, which will include a link to allow tracking online.
Installation
If you have purchased an installation service with us, available on selected Forest branded sheds, structures and buildings then this is completed after successful delivery of the product and is generally completed with 2 - 4 weeks following. After successful delivery, you will be contacted directly by the installers to book in an installation date. Please ensure that you have checked the delivery for all components and keep in a safe, dry place until the installation occurs.

Vehicles We Use
Items will be delivered on larger lorries which can get to most places it's typically, a 7.5 ton lorry which is about the size of a dustbin lorry, this will depend on the item that is being delivered and should you have any concerns with restricted access to your property we ask you to contact us prior to placing an order.
Unloading Of Your Delivery
Due to the nature of this product, delivery will be made to the front of the property to the nearest location. Our drivers will not carry these items inside your home or back garden. When the item is delivered on a pallet, the pallet and packaging are non-returnable and the goods can only be manoeuvred on a flat and level surface (i.e. not a gravel driveway) by a pallet truck. On some occasions the driver will split the package to assist with manoeuvring of the item. Once you are happy, we will ask you to check the condition of the goods and sign for the delivery. Assistance with unloading may be required.

Overall excellent quality addition to the garden
Really pleased with our new log cabin. Delivery was due 9.00am in the morning and arrived at 3pm, by an unhelpful driver who didn't really put it close enough to the garage as requested, so we had to park our cars in the road and where they would fit on the drive. I had also taken the morning off work. The quality of build is excellent, instructions clear, helpful and conscise. The roof timbers were a little on the flimsy side though. Overall, would thoroughly recommend this to anyone. It will be a great gym as very solid build. Please oh please get it dipped in treatment before it leaves the factory. The painting of preservative treatment etc, has been an horrendous and expensive job. I would have paid a bit more for the cabin if it had been already done.

Very Good Home Gym
Really excellent quality, large enough for my rowing machine and various other kit. This cabin is very light inside, the smell of fresh timber is invigorating and I'll be spending many happy hours in here getting into shape.

What specification base for this product is required? Can the base be 4m x 3m or does it have to be slightly bigger? What depth for hardcore and what depth for concrete? What gap is required near fence panels etc.?Are there potential gaps for adding electrics or do you need to drill into the wood?
We Replied:Dear Stephen Thank you for your question. We suggest building the base 4m x 3m for the Melbury. For a concrete base it must sit on a good compacted layer of hardcore and then the concrete must be poured to a minimum depth of 100mm. We do suggest if a concrete slab is poured, a damp membrane is positioned under the concrete. A layer of sand will need to cover the hardcore to prevent any puncturing of the damp membrane when the concrete is poured. This will prevent damp soaking up into the slab. Alternatively concrete slabs can be used. Preparation for the slab base must include a good layer of compacted hardcore, a dressing of sharp sand over this, and the slabs must be cemented into place using either wet or dry mix. It is critical in either system that the base does not run out of level by more than 10mm end to end, it is square, solid with no possibility of slump or movement. It is up to you how close the cabin is installed next to fence panels etc. we would recommend leaving a gap big enough for someone to fit between though. In order to install electrics you would need to drill into the wood, we would always recommend getting a professional in to do any type of electrical works. I hope this helps.
