Timber is a natural product and as such is susceptible to changes in temperature and humidity. Splitting and warping may occur which is perfectly natural and will not affect the strength or longevity or any guarantee given on the product. Timber sheds are treated with a non-toxic treatment during manufacture.

The compost bin was as expected. However, the wood was very wet and there was some mildew. It was raining heavily when plaaced in the garden si I figured the state of the wood didn't matter!

It might have been easier to assemble if the wood had been dry.
