Warwick Castle Urn Planter

The cast stone Warwick Castle Urn from Haddonstone is a popular garden container. Haddonstone was commissioned by Warwick Castle to reproduce the Warwick Castle Urn as part of the castle’s restoration project for the Rose Garden. The Rose Garden was reopened in 1986 by HRH The Princess of Wales having been restored back to its original design. Warwick Castle is a great medieval castle located beside the River Avon with a park and garden. Lancelot “Capability” Brown removed the old parterres and swept the land down from the castle to the river. In the eighteenth century, the beautifully proportioned conservatory became a focal point in the landscape. Directly in front of the conservatory is the Peacock Garden, designed by the Victorian landscape gardener Robert Marnock who added a hexagonal parterre and a rose garden. First laid down in 1868, the Victorian Rose Garden, like the Peacock Garden was also designed by Robert Marnock. However, by the end of the Second World War, it had disappeared under a tennis court. Fortunately, two of Marnock's original drawings survived, so the plot was lovingly brought back to life. Its charm stems from the contrast between the very precise geometry and proportions of the beds and the garden's informal, almost secretive setting. Haddonstone’s Warwick Castle Urn is now forms an integral part of both the Rose Garden and the Peacock Garden at Warwick Castle. Following requests from clients, Haddonstone has re-introduced this popular garden container into the collection. The Warwick Castle Urn is ideal in any garden setting with plants and flowers. The cast stone Warwick Castle Urn by Haddonstone is available in Portland, Bath and Terracotta colours. For dimensions of this popular cast stone garden container by Haddonstone, please see below.
