There's plenty of headroom under the quarter circle and the smooth planed timber makes the structure even more appealing. Thick and chunky 95mm posts hold up the top rafters with radiate over 90 degrees. The bottom of the posts can be easily anchored down, either by partially sinking them into the ground, or by securing them with our optional anchor fixing accessories found below, suitable for a variety of floor types.

Swift delivery and good product

Product was as expected, no surprises and no particular difficulties in assembly. Instructions are not brilliant, but competent DIYer should not have any problems. Remember to measure then measure again as distance and positioning of posts is critical for assembly to work properly. Delivered in stated time and delivery driver was very helpful with unloading.

Very happy customer

I’m chuffed with this pergola. It was the most competitive price we found for the same product and it is really nice quality. It arrived nice and early and was erected within the day. It’s the first piece of the puzzle in our new garden. I’m now just waiting for the sun to shine and the planting to grow.

Stated on delivery information that delivery to Scotland would be 10-14 days, it actually took 3 weeks by which time I was back at work. Disappointed.

Overall reasonably happy except the delivery.

Nicola Skinner Asked:

Once fixed into the ground, can it be taken out, eg if we move house? Can it be inserted straight into soil?

We Replied:

Dear Nicola Thank you for your question. If you are placing this item onto a patio we would recommend using a bolt down. If you are thinking of placing onto the ground we would recommend a post spike. We wouldn't recommend placing straight into soil as this will affect the wood quality. You are able to remove the post spikes and can find them and other fittings by following this link: https://www.gardensite.co.uk/Landscaping/Fencing_Accessories/ Should you wish to contact us further or to place an order, please call us on 0121 355 7701. Thank you for using our online Q&A system. Kind regards Lauren

Milly Asked:

Can this be fitted onto existing decking without taking any decking back up?

We Replied:

Dear Milly Thank you for your question. This pergola can be placed onto existing decking as long as it's big enough to accommodate it. You wouldn't need to take any decking up, however we would suggest using Feet Supports for the pergola legs, which are metal feet that go onto the bottom of each pergola post and can then be bolted or screwed down to your decking, thus keeping the structure steadily in place. You can find the bolt down feet using the following link: https://www.gardensite.co.uk/Landscaping/Forest_Fencefast_Easyfit_90105mm_Post_Base_Support.htm I hope that this information helps. Should you wish to contact us further or to place an order, please call us on 0121 355 7701.  Thank you for using our online Q&A system. Kind regards Andy.

What is the distance between the corner post and the middle front post on the curve?

We Replied:

Dear Joseph Thank you for your question. The measurement from the back post to the middle front post is approximately 275cm (9ft). Should you wish to contact us further or to place an order, please call us on 0121 355 7701. Thank you for using our online Q&A system. Kind regards Lauren

Sophie Asked:

On soil is it necessary to secure the Forest spike feet on all four standing posts or would it be ok to just use two?

We Replied:

Dear Sophie Thank you for your question. We would recommend using spikes on all feet as this will prevent the wood from rotting and reduce direct contact with the soil. Should you wish to contact us further or to place an order, please call us on 0121 355 7701. Thank you for using our online Q&A system. Kind regards Lauren

Ediane Asked:

Would it be OK to hang hammocks on this pergola?

We Replied:

Dear Ediane Thank you for your question. We would not recommend hanging hammocks from this pergola as it is not designed to hold weight. Should you wish to contact us further or to place an order, please call us on 0121 355 7701. Thank you for using our online Q&A system. Kind regards Lauren

Karen Asked:

Would this pergola be strong enough to hold the weight of plants grown up the posts and across the roof?

We Replied:

Dear Karen Thank you for your question. Yes, the main beams on this pergola are 9.5cm wide, so would give ample support for climbing plants to grow up the posts and along the roof area. Should you wish to contact us further or to place an order, please call us on 0121 355 7701. Thank you for using our online Q&A system. Kind regards Andy

Philip Mitchell Asked:

Is your recommendation that the four posts are set using the metal spike supports, or would a fence post dry mix or cement be suitable?

We Replied:

Dear Philip Thank you for your question. You can concrete the posts into the ground but the post spikes would allow you to move the pergola around should you wish to change the position giving you more flexibility. Should you wish to contact us further or to place an order, please call us on 0121 355 7701. Thank you for using our online Q&A system. Kind regards Lauren

Camilla Asked:

Can anything such as a chair be hung from the beams and, if so, what would be the maximum weight?

We Replied:

Dear Camilla Thank you for your question. Unfortunately, the roof beams have not been tested by the supplier and so we are unable to offer any definitive advice. As this is a decorative feature, we wouldn't advise suspending any heavy object. Should you wish to contact us further or to place an order, please call us on 0121 355 7701. Thank you for using our online Q&A system. Kind regards Lauren

Claire Asked:

Does the front post have to be in centre or can I place it to one side?

We Replied:

Dear Claire Thank you for your question. The front post has to be in the centre to support the curved rafters. Should you wish to contact us further or to place an order, please call us on 0121 355 7701. Thank you for using our online Q&A system. Kind regards Gaby

Karen Humby Asked:

Can the bolt down fixings be used into resin coated gravel?

We Replied:

Dear Karen Thank you for your question. Here is some information about using the metal bolt down fixings: https://www.forestgarden.co.uk/help-support/project-guides-top-tips/fencing-fencing-repair/ A range of metal post fixings are available for mounting posts in the soil, wet concrete or onto timber decking, slabs or set concrete. These metal fixings have a clamp into which the base of the post is clamped up. The clamps for use in soil have long steel spikes that are driven into the ground using a mallet and driving tool. The clamps for setting into concrete have a stem to set into the wet concrete. The clamps for use on decking, slabs or set concrete have a flat plate at the base which is secured to the deck, slabs or concrete using expansion bolts. With these solutions, no part of the post is below ground so the posts need to be the same length as the panels they are being used with. Before driving metal spikes into the ground it is essential to ensure that there are no underground electric or water services in the area. Should you wish to contact us further or to place an order, please call us on 0121 355 7701. Thank you for using our online Q&A system. Kind regards Gaby
