Deborah Asked:
Do the rafters sit entirely on top of the wall plate or are they notched? We would need to shorten them to reduce the overall depth, otherwise looks ideal.
We Replied:
Dear Deborah
Thank you for your question.
The rafters sit on top of the beam and you can therefore shorten them.

Tony Hancocks Asked:
We only have 8ft. 2ins. max. height beneath facias. What size are the beams and rafters, could they be notched onto the cross beam and wallplate to reduce overall height and still leave enough height underneath?
We Replied:
Dear Tony
Thank you for your question.
My advise would be to cut down the height of the beams so they fit. You would have to notch the cross beam yourself or simply lower it. I will upload the dimensions of the beams and rafters onto the website once I get them from Grange.

Ciprian Hodorogea Asked:
Could you please detail the dimensions of the packaging and especially the weight of the items altogether? Also would it be possible to install it without the middle post?
We Replied:
Dear Ciprian
Thank you for your question.
The weight is 223kg and the length is 2.7m x 1.2m.
The product cannot be built without the middle post as this supports the cross beam and the join in the length.

Emily Robson Asked:
I'd like to put a roof on this car port like you've done in the garden centre. What fall would you suggest?
We Replied:
Dear Emily
Thank you for your question.
We simply put a small amount of fall on ours to carry away the water. Literally a few inches.

Jules Asked:
If you give this a slight incline can you still use the u clips to secure the rafters or is there a better option?
We Replied:
Dear Jules
Thank you for your question.
We have been advised that if there is only a slight incline then the clips can still be used. The clips are included with the product to attach the rafters.

Nick Asked:
Can the support posts be set further apart than 6ft?
We Replied:
Dear Nick
Thank you for your question.
We wouldn't recommend constructing this pergola with the posts further apart as it may affect the structural integrity. We would recommend assembling as the instructions indicate.
