QUALITY ASSURED
Grange are pledged to purchase an increasing proportion of their timber from forests environmentally well managed according to the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Standards. Furthermore, in 2004 all pressure treatment processes were changed to arsenic-free and as from 2006 they switched to Wolman CX8 preservative. They guarantee all pressure impregnated products (such as posts) for a minimum of 10 years against rot. This guarantee also applies to non-pressure impregnated products (such as panels and trellis) that are isolated from the ground by a timber or concrete gravel board.

Good product

Well made. Delivery was miscommunicated internally, so had a delay of over a week beyond the expected delivery date. Otherwise no other problems. Includes all the fixings, except for fixing posts into / on top of ground using concrete mix or bolt-down post holders. The posts being 90mmx90mm you have do a bit of searching for the correct sizes as standard post holders are commonly 75mm or 100mm

I don't have a car but it makes a great pergola

I'm going ti use this as a pergola across the back of our house with a rambling rose covering the rafters, can't wait to get it in place. Delivery was quick and the timber seems excellent quality.

Generous Size

A really generous size car port that is held up by very substantial timbers. The rails across the top are pretty close together so I may decide to cover them before the winter.

Is the timber used for the Grange Car Port / Pergola pressure treated or tanalised? Also, is planed or sawn wood used?

We Replied:

Dear Norman Thank you for your question. The timber is pressure treated with a planed finish. Should you wish to contact us further or to place an order, please call us on 0121 355 7701. Thank you for using our online Q&A system. Kind regards Nathan James Dodd

Deborah Asked:

Do the rafters sit entirely on top of the wall plate or are they notched? We would need to shorten them to reduce the overall depth, otherwise looks ideal.

We Replied:

Dear Deborah Thank you for your question. The rafters sit on top of the beam and you can therefore shorten them. Should you wish to contact us further or to place an order, please call us on 0121 355 7701. Thank you for using our online Q&A system. Kind regards Nathan James Dodd

Tony Hancocks Asked:

We only have 8ft. 2ins. max. height beneath facias. What size are the beams and rafters, could they be notched onto the cross beam and wallplate to reduce overall height and still leave enough height underneath?

We Replied:

Dear Tony Thank you for your question. My advise would be to cut down the height of the beams so they fit. You would have to notch the cross beam yourself or simply lower it. I will upload the dimensions of the beams and rafters onto the website once I get them from Grange. Should you wish to contact us further or to place an order, please call us on 0121 355 7701. Thank you for using our online Q&A system. Kind regards Marsha

Mark H Asked:

Is it possible to fasten polycarbonate sheeting for this structure to give protection from rain? Could you also give it a slight angle to allow for run-off?

We Replied:

Dear Mark Thank you for your question. Yes, this is exactly what we have done with this product in our garden centre. Should you wish to contact us further or to place an order, please call us on 0121 355 7701. Thank you for using our online Q&A system. Kind regards Nathan James Dodd

Ciprian Hodorogea Asked:

Could you please detail the dimensions of the packaging and especially the weight of the items altogether? Also would it be possible to install it without the middle post?

We Replied:

Dear Ciprian Thank you for your question. The weight is 223kg and the length is 2.7m x 1.2m. The product cannot be built without the middle post as this supports the cross beam and the join in the length. Should you wish to contact us further or to place an order, please call us on 0121 355 7701. Thank you for using our online Q&A system. Kind regards Lauren

Emily Robson Asked:

I'd like to put a roof on this car port like you've done in the garden centre. What fall would you suggest?

We Replied:

Dear Emily Thank you for your question. We simply put a small amount of fall on ours to carry away the water. Literally a few inches. Should you wish to contact us further or to place an order, please call us on 0121 355 7701. Thank you for using our online Q&A system. Kind regards Nathan James Dodd
