Framing

Rattan Wicker

Next up is the synthetic wicker, which is handwoven over the frame. Royalcraft furniture makes use of a variety of colours as well as wicker types, including 6mm half round, full round, rope-effect flat weave and double half round.

Synthetic wicker boasts modern properties such as weather resistance but still looks as good as natural wicker, and the traditional appearance of rattan furniture makes it easy to blend into most garden settings.

Table Tops

If a rattan dining table, bistro set, coffee or lounge table is on your shopping list, then you'll be able to choose a polywood or glass top.

Polywood is a wood-effect material that's crafted from polyresin, although it looks like wood, it doesn't need treating or painting and will never rot.

Glass tabletops are generally provided in 5mm thick sheets of clear or dark glass. Depending on the table design, these are either 'floating' or 'sunken'. Floating, of course, refers to the glass sitting on top of the rattan table, whereas sunken is where the glass is lowered slightly into the table, with a small rattan lip around the edge. Both are easy to clean and wipe over.

Cushions
