I've used Phostrogen for many years. I find it easiest to use as a pre-season soil treatment, around late-March or early April. Just scatter the powder lightly on the soil and let rain wash it in - no need to spend hours mixing and watering. Phostrogen's NPK make-up, 14 10 27, includes a decent slug of Phosphorous for good root development (hence my reason for getting it into the soil BEFORE planting), and a whopping 27% Potassium, which gives a good boost to the development of flowers and fruit, as well as promoting disease resistance.
