Not What I Expected!

  • Delivery: One Star
  • Quality: Four Stars
  • Price: Three Stars

It's not clear to me whether the Delivery Rating applies to the delivery of the order, or to the delivery performance of the pump. Delivery of the order was excellent. The delivery performance of the pump is very poor. It should lift 1.7m but is only being used for an approx .7m head. The pressure, whichever bore of the three options provided is used, is very low, and does not give even 50% of the spread required at the top of my small water feature to give a decent flow of water down the stones and back into the reservoir, even with the flow regulator fully open. I am very disappointed with my purchase, which has been a total waste of money in my own case. For a lesser task it would be a reasonably good pump and this review in no way questions the quality of the pump in terms of other aspects of manufacture.

Andy Asked:

Can I vary the flow rate for this pump? I am replacing an old fountain pump and I don't want it to be too powerful (the previous pump was a little too fast which pushed too much water over the edge).

We Replied:

Hi Andy Thank you for your question. You can alter the flow rate of the pump. There is a control valve on the front casing. Kind regards Dan Everton

Does this product have a filter and can an extension cable be bought? if not, can you recommend a product which isn't too expensive which has pump for 600-800 lah. Filter and extension available please

We Replied:

Dear Liz Thank you for your question. The smallest all in one filter pump and u.v. we sell is the Blagdon 1400 please see the link below: /Aquatics/Blagdon_Inpond_All_In_One_1400_Complete_Pond_Solution.htm Should you wish to contact us further or to place an order, please call us on 0121 355 7701. Vicki Price Asked:

We currently have a broken Bermuda 1100 feature pump BER0058 which has never been particularly effective for a 3 tier 4ft 5in garden water feature. We need to replace it and are wondering if there is a more effective model to do the job. It basically splattered water out of the top, never reaching more than 2 inches in total height. We would ideally like it to rise about 6 inches before cascading. We also need to know where to disconnect it - i.e. within the feature which is preferable or outside which will mean taking up flag stones to get to underground wiring.

We Replied:

Dear Vicki Thank you for your question. You can use a larger pump to create the desired effect something like a 2000 LPH pump: /Aquatics/pontec-2000-litre-pondocompact-water-feature-pump.htm in regards to wiring we would suggest using this pump's cable but if that is not possible cutting the old cable and using a cable joiner, please see below a link to the pump: Should you wish to contact us further or to place an order, please call us on 0121 355 7701. Chris. Asked:

Are the 4 rubber sucker feet on the base attached to folding flaps or are the flaps permanently fixed in the outward position as per your picture?

We Replied:

Dear Chris Thank you for your question. The rubber suckers can be taken off if required and are not fixed in place. Should you wish to contact us further or to place an order, please call us on 0121 355 7701. Thank you for using our online Q&A system. Kind regards Dan Everton

Geoff Asked:

I have a broken Henri 10w IP 68 pump, what replacement would you recommend?

We Replied:

Dear Geoff Thank you for your question. IP68 is the dust and waterproof rating for the item and has no correlation to the pump's flow rate. Please email more information including the flow rate to aquatics@gardensite.co.uk and we can advise you. Should you wish to contact us further or to place an order, please call us on 0121 355 7701.
