Mr. Kuntawala Asked:
I have been using an Aquamax Oase 5500 pond pump since 2005 and clean it once a year as per the manual. I have noticed the flow is slowing down. What can I do to iincrease the flow?
We Replied:
Dear Sir
Thank you for your question.
Is there a seasonal flow control on the actual pump unit? If so this may be slowing the flow down.

nick carter Asked:
My Oase Aquamax 5500 has stopped working after 12 years. The impeller is free turning but the pump hums and then cuts out, any ideas?
We Replied:
Dear Nick
Thank you for your question.
This sounds as if the motor has finally given up and needs replacing. We do not stock the motors as a spare part so you will need to purchase a complete pump.

John Crump Asked:
My Oase has stopped working but the impeller is still free, can you suggest what is wrong?
We Replied:
Dear John
Thank you for your question.
If the impeller is free spinning but no power is going to the unit, we would first recommend checking the electrical supply. if that is ok it sounds like a motor fault and the unit will need replacing.

David Hayes Asked:
I have an Oase 5500 which is some years old now and the impeller has begun to stop and start. Any idea what the problem may be?
We Replied:
Dear David
Thank you for your question.
The issue you have is that the motor windings have developed dead spots meaning they are no longer continuous and are now faulty. Unfortunately a new pump is required.

Ann Carter Asked:
I have a Oase Aquamax 4000. The flow became erratic so I cleaned it, then when that didn't work, I replaced the impeller ( purchased this week from you). The new impeller improved things but the flow is nowhere near what it should be. I have a lot of fish and really need a decent flow to help oxygenate the water - have you any suggestions?
We Replied:
Dear Ann
Thank you for your question.
This sounds as if the motor has developed dead spots where the magnetic coil has failed, lowering the power of the pump, we would suggest a new pump is needed.

Ian Ogram Asked:
I have an Oase 6000 which stopped working this morning. I have removed it from the pond and it runs for about 15 seconds very notchily. I then removed the impeller and it appears "swelled" up at the end. What do you suggest I do next?
We Replied:
Dear Ian Ogram
Thank you for your question.
Once an impeller swells it can create irreparable damage to the pump, a new impeller can be tried but the only issue is that once used it cannot be returned. Our recommendation is a new pump.
