Description
Presenting the Norlog 175 gallon pond, boasting an interesting and unique hexagonal shape, this wooden pool sits above ground, which not only makes it a safer option for families with children and pets, but also means that no digging or excavation is required, resulting in a quick and easy installation process.
This pond can hold up to 175 gallons of water with an overall depth of 152.5cm, meaning it is suitable for housing approximately 15 small to medium-sized fish. Its above-ground design means you can sit on any of the 3 integral seat benches that lie on top of the pond's frame and admire the fish whilst you relax and unwind, which also makes it an ideal option for the elderly or people with restricted mobility.
Although substantially built, the pool is simple to assemble - probably taking around 30 minutes. Simply slot the slatted wood sections together before inserting the PVC liner and then finally screwing the seats on.
A wildlife haven can be quickly established with plants or you can introduce an optional filter pump or lights to create a very lively fish pond.
The timber used to produce this product is sustainably sourced and pressure-treated as well as being backed up by a 10-year guarantee against wood rot.

Base Preparation
Norlog ponds do not come with a base and are designed for the liner to hang inside. To ensure that the included liner does not grind or wear on anything sharp on the floor, we recommended layering a blanket of sand underneath your pool on the inside. Alternatively, you may use a piece of redundant carpet, a rug or a mat cut down to size to cushion the liner and act as a barrier between the bottom of the liner and the ground, thus ensuring maximum durability and life span of your pool.
Note: Our customers are very inventive and creative and are very kindly sending in their photos of our ponds in different settings, with additional accessories and set in themed gardens with ornaments and water features etc. Hopefully, we will continue to receive more customer images that will add to these ideas so it's only fair we state that none of these additions come with our standard Norlog pond range even though they are featured in our image bank for everyone to see. And, of course, we want to thank our customers for allowing us to use their images.

Excellent in every way
I finally got a day off to build my pond today and I have to say I am absolutely delighted with it. The order and delivery process was smooth and very efficient, with it being delivered exactly when expected. The instructions were a little sparse, but it is so easy and intuitive to put together that that really isn't an issue. Can't wait to finish it off with my new fountain tomorrow. Garden Site was also the cheapest I found on the net for the product and I would not hesitate to recommend both them as a supplier and the product itself.

The pond went up very easily no problem with assembly about 20 minutes, it makes a welcome feature really sets it off on the raised side of my garden cannot say how pleased I am with it as I shall be putting my Mum and Dads Goldfish in it. I can only agree with the last review I read dated 29th August. Fantastic product and, would highly recommend it. Just one tiny little comment would be "if the instructions could inform you as to which 3 sides the batons were to be fitted" that would really be helpful. Other than that. Quick delivery, quick assembly, everything fits as expected. Fantastic product. Oh, and fish just settling down for the winter months. Thank you.

The sun's UV rays can cause a PVC liner to go brittle after around 10-15 years but that is usually on ponds with exposed liners. Please could you settle a "where do we put the pond" argument. I think we should put the pond on the ground/grass whereas my hubby wants to put it on our large decking area. I agree, it would look lovely on the decking but surely the pond will be far too heavy when filled with water? The only area in the garden which has any shade is under a magnolia tree. Any advice?
We Replied:Dear Debbie Thank you for your question. Good question! But from our expertise, we would advise that it could be suitable on both. This size pool can be placed on a grass area as long as the area is stable and not prone to get water clogged. On the other hand, it should also be safe to be placed on decking as long as the decking is structurally sound and as long as the pool is placed over the decking bearers/supports underneath to ensure that the weight is evenly dispersed. Either way, we would recommend using some sort of underlay inside the bottom, underneath the liner such as a piece of old carpet, sand or similar which will help to stop the pool's rubber liner from rubbing on the ground (the wooden decking or any small stones on the grass) and wearing out.
