Description

The variegated sweet flag is easy to grow with sharp scented green and cream leaves. Loves shallow or boggy conditions and available on GardenSite.

Easy to grow on a marginal shelf or in a bog garden, Sweet Flag is a deciduous, clump forming, perennial with sword shaped scented leaves that in this variegated variety have green and cream vertical stripes. Grown mainly for its foliage that can become invasive.

Acorus Calamus Variegatus Features:

  • Flowers: June - July
  • Minimum Planting Depth: 1cm
  • Maximum Planting Depth: 15cm
  • Height: 50-80cm
  • Growth Rate: Medium

Care Instructions:

Little maintenance is required. Trim just above the water surface after foliage has died back in Autumn to tidy leaving a little material to protect new shoots.
