Attending Glee, the leading garden and leisure industry show, was a great opportunity for Nathan Dodd to spot trends and anticipate products that will come onto the market in the near future.
Glee, the Garden and Leisure Industry's annual trade exhibition is again taking place at the NEC in Birmingham between 14 – 16 September 2014.
GardenSite will be attending all three days - it's important for us as a business to anticipate next year's new trends and to take a look at up and coming products.
And there can't be any better place than Glee to catch up with everything that Is occurring in the marketplace as there are 530 exhibitors from across the globe showing their products all on one site.
It's our job to stay ahead of the game, offering you quality products as soon as they appear, so first stop will be the 'New Product Showcase', where exhibitors show their newest and most inspirational products hoping to gain a 'Glee New Product Award'
Award categories include Plants, seeds and bulbs, Garden Leisure Products, Machinery and Tools and Landscaping Products. You can be sure to see them arriving on GardenSite in the coming months.
Spread over three exhibition halls, there are separate sectors that include Garden Care (machinery, tools, growing media, irrigation etc), Design & Landscaping (inc. Decking, Fencing, Paving, Lighting), Leisure (BBQs, furniture, Play Equipment etc.), Home, Gift and Clothing.
We take time to visit existing suppliers and also others who may be offering new and innovative merchandise in all these areas, so that next year we can offer you the best products at the keenest prices.
This year plants are back at Glee with over 40 growers displaying their gorgeous flowers and shrubs in a giant greenhouse style atrium. The 'green heart' of Glee will be packed with beautiful blooms and lush foliage together with associated garden products.
A recent report published by Glee highlighted how much gardening has changed over past few years with unpredictable weather and changing tastes. So we'll also be taking time out to visit seminars, workshops and presentations to learn about present and future market conditions.
Addressed by well respected figures and covering a wide variety of topics, the overriding result from listening to these industry leaders will be fresh ideas on how to meet the changing demands of our customers.
Glee is always a great place to visit, learning about everything that is new and exciting in our industry, for more information on the show, visit the official Glee website.
Gardensite staff will be at the show to find out what will be new for 2015. Keep up with the news from the show and product images on our social media pages.
