Installation with Floor Frame Foundation Kit and Floor Panels:

The simplest erection solution is to install your Garden Shed directly on to a Biohort Floor Frame (available as an accessory) and secure this in the ground with the 50 cm long storm anchors provided, ground conditions permitting of course. Thanks to the Floor Frame it is possible to obtain a storm-proof erection of the Biohort Garden Shed on uneven ground.

Please note however, that moisture rising naturally from the ground will lead to condensation forming in the Garden Shed. To prevent this it is first necessary to lay plastic sheeting on the ground (see photo 2 below).

The aluminium chequered-plate Floor Panels which are available as accessories can be easily installed and protect against damp.
To ensure these form a stable surface underfoot we recommend that a layer of compensating ballast or polystyrene panels of ca. 3 cm depth be laid underneath them (thereby levelling out irregularities in the ground and providing the Floor Panels with suitable support).

Preparation Work

1. Earth is removed from the erection site (lawn or soil) to a depth of roughly 5 cm. (Floor Frame size plus desired all round clearance).

Where the ground is uneven or the shed is to be erected into a slope or hillside, sufficient compensation must be made in
advance to ensure a level foundation.

2. The foundation pit should filled to within 2-3 cm of the top edge with fine gravel.

If Floor Panels are NOT going to be used, a plastic sheet should be laid under the gravel as condensation protection. Ensure that the sheet does not protrude outside the edge of the Floor Frame!
