Halls 8 x 6 Heavy Duty Garden Shed
Alan Luckett Asked:
I am considering the purchase of a Halls 6ft x 8ft Pressure Treated Overlap Apex Shed. Could you please answer the following: 1. Does pressure treatment mean Tanalised? 2. What is OSB and is this also pressure treated? 3. Are the floor bearers pressure treated? 4 Is there an option to have different material used in the roof and floor? 5. I have level paving slabs on which to erect the shed. Do I need any further options to improve the siting and protect the shed floor further? 6. Do you offer an erection service with this product and if so at what cost? 7. An indication of the time for inexperienced labour to erect the shed?
Dear Alan, to answer you questions: Yes. They are not dip treated. That is why they have a 10 - 15 year guarantee. OSB is reconstituted wood that is glued and laminated together. Looks a little like Chipboard. It is in fact stronger than normal wood as a result and also treated. Yes floor bearer are pressure treated. No, unfortunately at this shed price price this is the only option available. You can always cover the roof or floor in a different wood finish yourselves. It is important to allow ventilation (don't surround base with soil for example) and to ensure water does not gather around the base for optimum shed life. That is all you need to do.
No but see below. I would give yourself at least 3 hours and at times you will need two people.

Susan Ansell Asked:
Can you please explain what a hasp and staple locking system is?
Hi Susan, this is a lock you see on many sheds where a metal bar with a small window goes over with a loop for a pad lock to go through stopping the bar from reopening.
