Gothic Stone Garden Jardiniere The bold Gothic Jardinière from Haddonstone is a traditional garden planter with a good planting area. The Gothic Jardinière is a Regency Gothic octagonal garden planter with double-quatrefoil panels. The Gothic Jardinière has alternate acanthus and rose relief bosses. The Gothic quatrefoil is one of the icons of Gothick style, etymologically meaning four leaves. The quatrefoil can be seen on many of Haddonstone’s Gothic Revival garden planter designs. The Gothic Jardinière is shown on a Gothic Upper Base in four sections (an optional extra). For Lower Base in eight sections see diagram. The Gothic Jardiniere is also available as a freestanding Gothic Fountain. Gothic was the predominant architectural style of the Middle Ages. In the eighteenth century the style enjoyed a revival being known as Gothic Revival or Gothick, initially in gardens and landscapes. The later Victorian Gothic Revival occurred in the mid nineteenth century. In the Victorian era the Gothic Revival was a reaction against classical architectural style and its symmetry.
